I hate the summer for one thing!,Mosquitoes,I used to love
to sit outside once it cooled down,But now in my area there
are too many,Plus now that you have to worry about West Nile
virus,You can't even go outside without OFF!,I hate it!
Is anyone here lucky enough to be living in a mosquito free area?

I don't have to worry about them because I never leave my house.

I hate them, too! I get them every now and them, and they are extremly annoying and itchy.
My little sisters get them alot. My littest sister gets them every single summer :(

I don't think there is anybody that likes mosquitos.

Since we're on the subjec of mosquitos, when I first learned about West Nile Virus, I didn't want to leave the house for fear I would get it. That was before I found out that many people get sick from it but very few of them die. A person can have it and not show any symptoms. The people it can affect the most are kids and elderly people. If someone gets it once, they become immune. All you have to do to keep them away is to get rid of any standing water and get some Off! spray.

I hate being allergic to them, also. They puff up so bad on me that I look like I've got a balloon under my skin or something.

You know how they say everything in Texas is bigger? How would you like to go outside and find this?

Yeah, I know about mosquitos. More than likely, I've already gotten WNV and just never knew it. (Seriously)

They do say the number of human infections are way down this year. That could mean that a LOT of folks HAVE already gotten the virus.

Oh, and did I mention I'm allergic to Off? Ugh.

Are there even mosquitos in Texas? I spent close to a year there, and did not see one. Maybe that's just the dry area I was in, but I see them all the time here in Minnesota.

There are a lot of skeeters in this state, depending on which area you happen to live in. I spent some time in New Braunfels one summer, yet I never came across a mosquito. Come back home to Houston, and we're swarmed. More than likely, that's why you're not having to deal with them.
