What exactly is VCD (question on the abbreviation)? From what I gathered it is something that your burn from your computer, and you can only play on your computer. Anyway, my question is if I upload a video on my computer do I have to have a special program to burn a disc in VCD format?

Stands for Video CD.
All it is, is a CD-R that when burned in that format will work in a DVD player. You can create menus and stuff. I think most burning software allows you to burn in VCD format.

Not trying to be too much of a burden, but I was wrong what I said above. I meant does anyone know how to use it using Pinnacle Studio 8? Thank you!

Okay, just as an update...I figured out how to make it a VCD on the program. However, now I just have one problem. After burning it as a VCD I could not make it work on my DVD player. Do all DVD players accept the VCD format? My DVD player is a VHS + DVD Goldstar brand.

No, not all players play VCDs. It varies by make and model of standalone dvd player. Some new ones even play SVCD (high resolution VCDs).
Sometimes you can find out about compatibility by looking at the DVD player list at dvdrhelp.com
