We loved it too.

We had a big fat 'Bully' in our neighborhood too when I was a kid,just like Lumpy. When we were fed up with his pushing us around …this is what we did to him.
On Halloween night in 1953,we got on our costumes and went on a little adventure.
I got the tools from my pop's toolbox,and when his bike was parked outside of his house,my 2 buddies removed his bicycle seat and hid it, then loosend his handlebars so he couldn't ride it for awhile. That's how he chased us little kids in the neighborhood,…Like Lumpy,with his bike. All this,while he was out 'trick-or-treating' !! lol
We were all about 10 y/o and he was about 14.
He didn't know who did it,and I think he got the message too,…because he stopped being a 'bully' after that night.
Oh yeah!, not us,but we heard in school that some other kids really soaped up his house windows too.
They probably had enough of his s___ also. (lol)

That ep really brought back some old memories of my childhood.

I love that line! And did anyone know that Helen Parrish who played Mrs. Rutherford was a famous actress in the 30s and 40s?

I loved that episode! I loved those lines too!

That's one of my favorites, too.

I loved the little smile and knowing look on Ward's face when Beaver said "We yelled 'Meathead' and Mr. Rutherford came out."

I liked that episode, even though Lumpy was sure a mean kid in those early episodes! I liked The Lump much better in seasons 5 and 6, when he became "one of the gang," with Wally and Eddie.

She hosted one of the first variety shows on TV, "Hour Glass", in 1947-48.

I wonder if Archie Bunker watched this episode and that is how he first came across the term 'Meathead'.

This is one of my favorites too. Especially "Hey Meathead" and Mrs Rutherford's indirect zinger. Pity Helen Parrish had to die so young.
