View Full Version : Frasier: The Complete Final Season
CliffClavin 07-13-2004, 10:12 AM From tvshowsondvd.com:
We told you recently that the 11th (and last) season of Frasier was going to come out on DVD while it was still relatively fresh in the minds of viewers, but that the previously mentioned date (in September) was in the process of changing.
Well, we still haven't nailed that date down yet. Perhaps we'll find out all about it in the VSDA show this week. But we know it's in the final quarter of the year, with November being looked at most firmly. Stay tuned.
Still, while we wait, Paramount has given us an early look at the cover art for Frasier - The Final Season. Enjoy!
Frasier - The Complete Final Season will be officially released on November 16th.
barwars 07-13-2004, 03:34 PM Nice pic on the cover.... although bad cover art overall.
I like the Frasier waving goodbye.... but hopefully Eddie will be on every other season.
The "Now on DVD" thing really has to go.... obviously its on DVD.... you're holding it!!
wayman 08-06-2004, 10:10 PM I know "Frasier" was broadcast in widescreen for High Definition TV's in its final season. I wonder if it will be in widescreen on the DVD set?

Im getting it regardless.... but widescreen would be the ultimate plus.
Im hoping the "Analyzing The Laughter" special (that aired the night of the finale) makes it.
Its seems like it was meant as part of the syndication package -- therefore.... meant for DVD.
barwars 08-07-2004, 08:20 PM Much better....
CliffClavin 08-08-2004, 03:44 PM Let me use that please, Thank you. :D
Moondance 08-08-2004, 04:54 PM So the entire 11th season is coming out on DvD??? Whoa! I didn't know that! Looks like I'll be buying this one, too!

You're better off not using it.... because the "official" cover will have "Now On DVD" on it.
Chambers 08-08-2004, 11:55 PM "Now on DVD" is an old advertising trick, don't you see? People will see the word "now" and will subconsciously think "Hey, it's on DVD now...but what about tomorrow and the next day and the day after that? I better buy this NOW before it's not on DVD anymore!"
Well, that was my Cliff Clavian attempt to rationalize the stupidity of putting "Now on DVD" on a DVD.
Moondance 08-10-2004, 08:50 PM LOL to your attempt - I'm sick of being so patient! I want to see SEASON 4 "Now!!!!"
Feen
barwars 08-10-2004, 08:57 PM CliffClavin.... I put the original coverart back in your first post.
That's what came with the article.... so that's what should be included with the post.
Frasier'sHairyMan 08-11-2004, 12:32 PM Has there been any recent news on when it's being released? I'm getting ansy.

barwars 08-21-2004, 10:33 AM WIDESREEN,

From www.dvdfile.com....

thats good to hear.
but what makes this DVD even better is that Im getting it for free AND before the official release date.
barwars 08-21-2004, 01:13 PM IMO, they've got the box all wrong.
The cast pic is great of course.
But the skyline should be on top, with the title on the bottom.... and get rid of the damn "NOW ON DVD"!!

barwars 08-21-2004, 01:20 PM And just to have it match the other seasons -- have it say "The Complete Final Season"
(which sounds much better than "The Final Season" or "The Complete Eleventh Season", which never sounded good)
Thats what they seem to be calling it anyways.
CliffClavin 08-21-2004, 01:22 PM Widescreen ahhhh crap I hate that then you don't see as much on the bottom or top .I won't buy it until its in FULL screen.

You officially lost all possibility of having any credibility with that post.
You claim to be such a big movie/TV fan.... but you dont realize that widescreen really is??
dumbass.

Um.
Besides criticizing widescreen, the bigger crime here is that you won't buy the DVD just because of the size of the screen.

CliffClavin 08-21-2004, 01:37 PM .....well I love the way regular tv looks you know old school, I don't like to watch my fave tv shows in widescreen.Maybe they will come out with 2 versions of the show. That sounds reasonable.

But Frasier Season 11 ISNT old school, it was shot in widescreen for HDTV.
We got the shaft by NBC airing it fullscreen, meaning we lost somewhere between 20% and 80% of the picture.
I think they should only release it widescreen, because thats the way it was intended.
Buying it fullscreen is the same as buying it with scenes cut.
NOT worth it.
CliffClavin 08-21-2004, 01:41 PM Please don't call me dumbass. Be nice to people.

CliffClavin 08-21-2004, 01:44 PM I'll work on the dvd to make it look like all the other seasons. It would look weird to see everything up to S10 being full & then see s 11 in wide.I would love for all of them to be a like.
CliffClavin 08-21-2004, 01:45 PM I understand barwars I have many movies in wide.

What do you mean "work on the DVD"
Anyways, from what Ive read -- Seasons 9 and 10 are also widescreen.
Season 8 may be too, Im not sure.

Fullscreen means they crop the sides, and occassionally the top and bottom too.
Im done explaining it to you.

You're NOT missing the image on the bottom or top. If you watch something that's been filmed in widesreen in fullscreen, you're missing the image on the right and left!
CliffClavin 08-21-2004, 01:55 PM My mom says you miss stuff on the top & the bottom when you see it in wide.I understand the god of widescreen. I'll buy them & be happy too.I mean it.;)

CliffClavin 08-21-2004, 01:58 PM I wasn't ignoring the link , also I had the same argument at dvdfile.com.I understand too , 17 out of my 20 movies on dvd are in widescreen.

I seriously doubt you have a 4.0 grade average.
Well maybe you do, I mean -- you're homeschooled by your mother I presume, and she doesnt even know what a widescreen movie is.

Wow, your mom seems to know more about technology than mine. She doesn't get into the barn much since she lives in the kitchen. I don't mean that in the literal sense. (For you guys who don't know me, my daddy put my tv and vcr/dvd player in the barn so I won't disturb the house with my Cheers watching)
I get 3.8, but daddy still lets me keep the tv/dvd! He's special to me!
I think I'll buy Frasier dvds. If CliffClavin likes them, they can't be that bad!

CliffClavin 08-21-2004, 03:18 PM Well im not dumb or smart im right in the middle you know like average. Iam homeschooled by my dad by the way.I get my lessons through e-mail & I get 28 lessons a year. They are one page lessons that have :Language , Math , Social Sciences, Science , Fine Arts, & everything else I do those on my own until the test about four weeks later regular school for 7 years until my dad asked me if I wanted to be homeschooled.
CliffClavin 08-21-2004, 03:18 PM I love 'Frasier' too.
CliffClavin 08-21-2004, 03:20 PM Barwars,

It's not about being nice, Cliff. It's about thinking critically. Don't believe anything just to be nice. If that's the way you work, then I'd hate to know what you think of Hitler's theories. In this case, it's a matter of everybody else's word against your mother's. Facts are facts.
