Why are some eggs white, and some brown? And why are the brown eggs more expensive? Yah, Ill feel like the biggest ass if Im the only one who doesnt know. It is because one are chickens, and the other from hens?

different types of chickens lay different kinds of eggs,

"hens" lay eggs, while "chickens" refer to male and female animals.... and TV dinners of course.

Chickens and hens are the same. Anyway, I'm not entirely sure- but I think really white (almost porcelain white) eggs are from geese, and the darker colours (the pinky-terracotta coloured ones) are from chickens.

http://ask.yahoo.com/ask/20000523.html That still doesn't answer why brown eggs are more costly than white eggs. ;)
