View Full Version : Green Acres Trivia Questions!?
Jack1000 07-10-2004, 09:16 PM Guys,
OK! Who can name all of the items that Mr. Haney tried to sell or sold to Oliver? (To make it fun for everyone, limit the list to two items per poster please) Here are my two:
1.) The Hoyt Clagwell Company Tractor: That kept breaking down all the time. Remeber when Oliver tried to find replacment parts, but couldn't call the company in Fargo North Dakota, because the Hooterville Switchboard didn't have a Fargo hole? LOL!
2.) Irving TwoSmokes: The ceramic wooden Indian that Oliver was conned into buying. He was listed as one of the subscribers of the Hootverville Telephone Company when Oliver tried to contact the Public Utilities Commission for better service! The commission thought he was drunk! I can't remember though, what was Irving supposed to do?
Jack
Evagabor4ever 07-12-2004, 10:45 AM The plant: On Lisa and Oliver's anniversary, if they bought the plant they would get the pot for free ad vice versa.
Dixie Darlin' 07-14-2004, 02:53 PM Oh man, this is TOO easy! Okay, in the Christmas episode he tried to sell a musical tie that broadcasted different radio stations (or if you wanted, you could purchase a bow-tie instead).
He also tried to sell a College Kit--composed of a spiffy car, a raccoon fur coat, and a tennis racquet (with free repairing string)--to Oliver when he found out he was sending Eb to college.
Too bad we can only list two thingys, I could list ALOT of things!

Yay! Okay, he sold them the house, Eleanor the cow, the generator, cots, a table w/ chairs, Bertrum the rooster, Alice the chicken, the Hoyt-Clagwell tractor, an electric cream seperator, electric hair waving machine, electric milking machine, I think an electric butter churn or something like that, a certificate that showed Oliver was a lawyer again, and a lawyer's office that Oliver and his new partner bought, a horse that talked like Mr. Ed, a plowhorse, some soapflakes for the Christmas episode, some jam jars, a potted plant with a free vase, a Grabwell washing machine and bearcat and whirlpool, and a crown. He TRIED to sell some overalls, a fancy bathtub with some ridiculous name ( I think it was a Monstrosity), a Jolly Roger flag, an Egg-Slicer harp, a painting by "Picarasso", a chair (whose handles came off), a woodworm table, a stuffed monkey supposedly used in the monkey trial, a diploma from the nearby college, a fortune-telling machine, an automatic seed planting machine (the 8th and 9th wonders of the world), state souvenoirs, color-code buttons for when they started up that airplane making thing, accessories for a nightclub, and those stick things that the music conducters wave around. He's had several services, like the bus to Bleedswell when the "exodus" went on, an acting class, tours of the farm on several occassions, becoming Eb's agent when he saw a UFO, an apologizing service, a loaning service, ran the Hooterville Monkey Racing Track, temporarily ran his cousin's movie theatre, ran a motel off the Douglas farm for about a week, tried to get a puppy raising service for when Lisa found a pup named Freddy...and there's a bunch more that I can't remember at the moment, but PHEW that's a lot of stuff to remember!
Dixie Darlin' 09-20-2004, 08:50 PM Oh yes, let's not forget Haney's Employment Agency. "We'll find the right man for the job, or we'll vice-versa him." And his punchcard-operative computator. hee hee
Miss Lisa 01-08-2005, 03:24 PM I can remeber the cradel,the de-hexing kit,beauty supplies,the elephant,the parachute,and the plain.
kooky12 10-31-2005, 02:56 PM When there was a drought, Haney sold Oliver a "rain-makin' machine", which was a native American Indian doing a rain dance, but the dance didn't work, so Oliver didn't pay him.
Once Haney's truck was empty, and Oliver said something like, "I'm not gonna buy what's out on you're truck." Haney replied "I haven'y got anything on my truck." A couple of seconds later Haney adds "You wanna buy a truck ?"
Miss Lisa 11-17-2005, 08:53 PM Sorry, I forgot to add the episodes that they were from.
The cradle was from the episode that Eleanor was going to have a calf but they all thought that Lisa was going to have a baby, or as Mr.Carson would say it a B-A-B-I-E. The de-hexing kit from when Lisa got a blue feather in the mail and thought that she was cursed. The beauty supplies from when Lisa wanted to buy beauty supplies and found out that Mr.Drucker didn't sell any so she decided to sell it herself but ended up turning her house into a beauty shop. The elephant from when Lori was staying over at the Douglas' house and they decided to throw her a simple party but Lisa finds out that Lori has never been to a circus so Lisa rents an elephant from Mr.Haney. The plain and parachute from when all the farms in Hooterville became infested with the Bing bug so Oliver was the one who had to go up in a plain and sray the field but ends up burning down all of his crops.
kooky12 11-18-2005, 01:38 PM 1) When Haney brought over the mob to Oliver's house (that were complaining about Lisa's hair salon) he offered his services as a bodyguard, "Care to hire a good six-dollar bodyguard ?" (What a businessman - first bring the mob over, then try to charge for protection - reminds me of when the Stooges planted the mice and then offered to be exterminators.)
2) Once Oliver was mad at Haney's business tactics and told him "One day I'm gonna nail you !" and Haney replied "Care to buy a hammer ?" while pulling a hammer out of his jacket.
