View Full Version : Calling All Prayers
Janice 07-10-2004, 05:25 PM My husband's sister has suffered a massive stroke and is in a coma. She's been in poor health with diabetes and heart disease for many years, but this stroke came on very suddenly. She's only 57, and things don't look good. This happened two days ago while she was shopping. If she survives, she could be paralyzed and/or have brain damage, so I don't know what to hope for.
To make matters worse, her mother ended up in the hospital today with chest pains, most likely caused by stress. She's 82, and has had two previous heart attacks.
Please keep my husband's sister and his mother in your thoughts or prayers.
This is unreal. Both are 'wait and see' situations.
Oh, no. :( I'll keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers. Hang in there, Janice.

I got a little scared yesterday because I got out of work and my dad said my mom was in the emergency room. She went there while she was at work (she works in a hospital so the ER is literally downt the hall). Well, I was really worried but all it is are kidney stones that she needs to pass. I'm glad my mom will be OK now.

And 57 years old is nowhere near elderly, especially these days.
Let's all hope both can recover as much as possible. And remember medicine today is much more advanced than even 10 years ago.

Janice 08-21-2004, 05:29 PM My husband's sister, Alexis, lost her battle yesterday, and was taken off life support. She had never regained consciousness following her stroke six weeks ago. She was only 57. I've known her for 22 years, and she was a funny and warm person.
My mother-in-law has been hospitalized twice since it happened, but she's doing fine physically now.
Thanks to everyone who offered their kinds thoughts and prayers.
