Facts of Life Pilot comming to DVD through Different Strokes spin off episode...

heres the article..

The show aired on 22 nights during the first season, and twice the airing was a double-length hour-long story, bringing the total to 24 half-hour episode slots for the series' rookie year. One of those hour-long airings was "The Trip", which crossed-over Strokes with another series: Hello, Larry. That was also the year that ended in the episode "The Girls School" (a.k.a. "Garrett's Girls"), which was actually the pilot for a spin-off, The Facts of Life.

I bought the set too (DS being my #2 show of the 80's, FOL #1). You can tell the producers were planning for Nancy to become the central character, with Blair as a supporting role. Funny how things changed. Tho thankfully for the better.

Yes, I LOVE the DS set too.

Now let's hope we'll have FOL (seasons 1 and 2 packaged together) sometime in 2005.

I just got the DVD yesterday and it was fun seeing the pilot again.
I'd forgotten how tiny Kim Fields was. Now I see why they put her on rollerskates to appear taller (she was 9 playing 12.)
Jennifer was utterly forgettable -- glad they replaced her with Natalie. Molly was kind of funny with her rapid-speech pattern. Felice was a very good actress in the pilot, and Lisa was gorgeous. But I noticed Blair was a lot meaner, even to Sue Ann. And she smoked! I also liked Mr Bradley a lot more than The Crocker, who seemed like a smug bastard. At least Bradley showed his human side, and even cried when Mrs G read Natalie that poem about adoption:
Not flesh of my flesh, not bone of my bone
But still miraculously, my own
Never forget for a single minute
You grew under my heart...but in it.

(sniffle-sniffle) "uhh, can you have that xeroxed?"

correction: you grew NOT under my heart, but in it.

Anyone notice the middle child from 'Gimme a Break' in the pilot episode?

If they release 'Diff'rent Strokes' Season two, we will see the episode where the 'The Facts of Life' girls come to visit Kimberly at her apartment!
