"Julia and Ted" is about two adult friends (Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Ted McGinley) who are both divorced and now single. Ted Marshall (McGinley) and Julia Stevens (Louis-Dreyfus) were high school sweethearts who broke up after graduation and remained great friends ever since. Ted and his ex-wife, Kate (Kirstie Alley) have been divorced for 3 months now and have three kids: Tristan (12), Lilly (11), and Tavia (7). Julia and her ex-husband, Mark (John Stamos) have been divorced for 18 months now and have two kids: Cassie (15) and Eric (12). Julia, Ted, their exes, and their kids live in Chicago, Illionis. Julia and Ted bumped into each other a month after Ted and Kate's divorce was final. Shortly after, Ted moved into Julia's house as friends. Julia's and Ted's kids get along great. Julia's son, Eric, and Ted's son, Tristan, are the same age, in the same grade, and are best friends. Throughout the season, Julia and Ted begin to date other people. Ted and Julia grow closer and closer as the season goes on. In the season finale, Ted pops the question to a surprised Julia, who accepts.
