Just saw the episode where they're telling Wednesday and Pugsley about their romance. Gomez was a sickly guy with chronically clogged sinuses who was set to marry Morticia's sister. When he first heard the young Morticia (who he'd just met at that point) say something in French, it was really funny. Turned over a new leaf right there. He was a new man, and his sinuses cleared up immediately. :-)
