I'm trying to think of the name of sitcom that aired on NBC sometime in the mid-90s. It wasn't a big hit but I think it was a midseason replacement, got picked up for the fall and aired a few episodes before being cancelled. It featured a stand-up comedian whose name I'm trying to come up with as well. I think it was an office-based type sitcom.

It's not The Good Life (with John Caperonera and Drew Carey).

Can anyone help? Thanks. Maybe provide a list of sitcoms that aired on the major networks in the 1990s that featured stand-up comedians. I know I would recognize the title if I saw it.

No it's not any of those.

The comedian I'm thinking of might have been a supporting character on the show.

It's driving me nut! I can't think of it. I can picture the comedian in my head but I can't think of his name.

Is it Nightline with Al Franken?

that show wasn't called "Nightline". I forget what it was called.

Anyway, was that the show? It took place behind the scenes at a "Nightline" type of show, and Al Franken played a reporter. I forget the name of it.

Oh, wait! Was the show "Working" w/Fred Savage?

No not Larry Sanders. What I'm looking for was a failed sitcom.

Well Al Franken played a reporter on Lateline.

Could you be thinking of ABC's Sports Night?
