Probably a silly question, but do you think Name Brand products or UnBrand(like store brand) products are better?
Just curious :)

Just curious :) Kay Scarpetta 07-08-2004, 03:24 PM Hmm.. depends on what it is, really. For example, I like Coca Cola better than store bought coke, but I like Stop & Shop's cinnimon rolls better than Pilsbury :) spunkygirl 07-08-2004, 03:33 PM Originally posted by Kaffeine Kay Hmm.. depends on what it is, really. Sometimes there's not much of a difference and sometimes there is :) PZelda 07-08-2004, 03:44 PM "Unbrand" = generic :) It all depends. jekouptown 07-08-2004, 04:37 PM I don't think it matters with Frozen veggies. If there is someone who is NAME struck you can fix them by pouring Generic Ketchup inside the HEINZ bottle.*l* ¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 07-08-2004, 04:41 PM Depends. Most drinks and foods I buy the name brands, but for quick snacks or whatever, I buy the generic. So much cheaper. Unless I have a coupon for it. Then I get the namebrand. Coupons = love. EricIdlefan 07-08-2004, 04:57 PM Love cappincino, Diet Dr Pepper, and Steak no matter the bargin. spunkygirl 07-08-2004, 06:02 PM Originally posted by Miss Vicki "Unbrand" = generic :) It all depends.  So true, some generic foods suck, and some generic clothes can be just as good as designer brands IMO :) spunkygirl 07-08-2004, 06:04 PM Originally posted by ¤MsConanOBrien¤ Depends. Hmm I am picky about pop, once in a while I will buy generic pop but it's only certain generic brands though. Sometimes it depends on how much money I have :) spunkygirl 07-08-2004, 06:05 PM Originally posted by Jen1989 It depends. I def. won't buy name brand cereal, I won't pay $5 a box for cereal  Generic to me usually is just as good as the name brand :) I buy name brand breads more often than not though :) Kazza 07-08-2004, 06:10 PM I buy mostly generic stuff. Most of them taste just the same, or even better than name brands. Just for a few exceptions I like to save $$ Brent88 07-08-2004, 06:43 PM Depends. Most generic stuff is just as good, but some is sickening. :barf: robyrob 07-08-2004, 10:15 PM Originally posted by Brent88 Depends. Overall, I really don't mind picking up generic brand foods - sodas not included. Same goes for cheese. I've tried the Kroger brand that's supposed to be just like Velveeta - no way, not even close. AnaheimPMWitch 07-09-2004, 01:16 AM Originally posted by Topanga eeeewwwwww one thing I have never liked was generic cola, I like generic pop if it's orange, or lemon lime but generic cola is just nasty :barf: oh I know *smirks* lets just say if I go to a friend house who I KNOW buys the Generic crap I just bring my own can of CocaCola cause I refuse to drink anything else (i'm Picky) dawsongirl 07-09-2004, 04:20 AM Food...it depends on how it tastes or keeps. Medicines or other non-food goods, I usually buy store-brand because I can't see paying like $2 bucks more for the same ingredients. dawsongirl 07-09-2004, 04:27 AM Originally posted by Topanga Hmm I am picky about pop, once in a while I will buy generic pop but it's only certain generic brands though. Sometimes it depends on how much money I have :) Generic pop is not in my vocab. :D Cashodeen 07-09-2004, 05:17 AM I am very picky when it comes to brands, because I stupidly have it "set in my mind" that offbrands will not do, even in cases when they probably would. There is this local brand in WA for grocery products that is meant to be for "frugal folks," but it actually has stuff as good as or better than well known brands. Other than that, I usually go for big brands. spunkygirl 07-09-2004, 07:15 AM Originally posted by dawsongirl Generic pop is not in my vocab. :D  It is in mine if I don't have alot of money   vienna waits 07-09-2004, 12:02 PM I started using generic ProActive yesterday for acne... I'm hoping that it will work the same. Generic and namebrand doesn't really matter to me except for soft drinks. |
