I found that the epsiode titled Trapped, where two thugs held Ralph,Alice and Ed hostage in the Kramden apartment at gunpoint, was something quite different from the kind of episodes the series usually had to offer. In this episode there was a feeling of trauma, suspense and terror. It was kind of a scary episode. Not something we're used to seeing on The Honeymooners.Maybe Jackie Gleason felt like doing something out of the ordinary with that episode.

I agree that episode was certainly different from the usual Honeymooners storylines. Not one of their funniest either.Except for the openning scene at the pool hall with Ralph and Ed.That had to be the funniest part of that episode.Once Ralph is attacked in the street though, the episode becomes more of a drama than a comedy.

I love that episode. Ralph was at his best in this one.

I suppose that when the individual episodes were written they didn't look at the entire series for continuity's sake. I can't figure out why Ralph was afraid to fight Harvey in one episode, but had no problem taking out a big brute with a gun in Trapped.

No, they didn't. Each episode was varied, just as life is. :)
Take care~ Alice
