double post

I got pushed too far this morning and walked out. I have to go back and give them a resignation letter though.

I should have done it the proper way and given them 2 weeks, but those 2 weeks would have been hell. It was obvious she didn't want me there, so she can have her way. :rolleyes:


Of course now, it's gonna be another 6 months without a job. People are going to look at my resume and say, "Eight months? What happened there?" If I tell the truth, I'm screwed, if I bend the truth without saying anything bad, I look like I just left because I didn't like it or because I didn't get along with the boss. I'm am sooooo screwed. :crying:

Cathy, it feels probably like a nightmare now, but I bet this will turn out to be the best thing. That job sucked big time and it's good you got out of there. I just hope it's not hell finding another job. Just know that some place out that that's far better is waiting to hire you. Good luck, girl.

I wasn't being funny or anything, notice the :( I don't blame her for quitting her job. From what I read, she was recieving awful treatment.

Cathy, I actually want to congratulate you. You shouldnt be forced to quit because of your boss, and you had to. Nobody should have to go to work and literally hate it. I know it seems like its the end of the world, but its also a relief for you knowing you never have to work for them again. I wouldnt lie on the resume- tell them the truth. Tell them all the aweful stories of your boss, and for references put down your co-workers who went through the same crap. Theyll see the conditions you were in were unbearable. Good luck!

You know, I quit my job a few weeks ago, and I feel like a weight has been lifted. I was miserable where I was working, and I didn't give them two weeks notice, I wouldn't have made it the two weeks.

I have a feeling you'll get a better job soon :) You've got experience under your belt, so that can help.

Don't worry about it. Sometimes the only thing you can do is walk away from a bad situation.

I did the same thing years ago with a job I once loved, but things just got out of control, and I wasn't getting any help, or extra money.
I regretted leaving a lot of good friends behind and just vanishing, but it was for the best.
A week later I got an offer from an old Professor for a great job at my old college.

Hang in there.

The two weeks was more of a formality anyway. I didn't figure they'd make me stay and THANK GOD they didn't. I would have pulled my hair out.

I'll probably feel that way by the end of the week. At least I hope so! I just hope that that 8 months is enough. Seems so little on a resume to me. *shrugs*

That was luck! I'm a pessimist, so I don't think I'll get lucky a get an offer within the week, but maybe.

Hang in there, Cathy. Things will be ok and I have faith that, while it may take a while, you'll find an even better job.. where people appreciate you. Be proud of yourself for getting outta Dodge when you did.

You're young, smart and educated Cathy. You had to remove yourself from an unhealthy situation. People leave jobs all the time, so don't worry about your resume.

Things have a way of working themselves out. There's a great job out there for you, and you'll probably meet your future husband there too. :)

You should go watch "Office Space." It should make you feel better :)

I keep thinking about what I wish I would have said or not said while my boss was standing there accusing me of everything bad that never happened and indirectly calling me a lazy liar, but oh well...I'm gone and VERY glad. Those people were insane lunatics who lied and backstabbed everyone, and then blamed it on everyone else. I hope their business fails. I know for a fact the IRS has already got their eye on them. :D
