I don't know if this has been a topic before, but which performances as Darrin are your favorites by both Dick York and Dick Sargent? For Dick York, my all-time favorite performance of his as Darrin was in "The Joker Is a Card". I still love his enthusiasm ("Yagazuzi-zim!") then his infuriation at Arthur for realizing that he'd been set up. For Dick Sargent, my favorite performance of his was in "The Phrase Is Familiar". I love how he acted out all those cliches so well. Anyone else care to make some nominations?

Dick York--you picked a good one "Joker is Wild" but I also love "Divided, he falls" but there are many excellent DY episodes adn performances. "If They Never Met" is also on my list.

Sargent? Yes, the one you list "The Phrase is Familiar" is good.

I was watching this sad story of Dick York on Entertaintment Tonite. It was back in 1992, and he was on oxygen, and weeks away from death. He had no job, no money and had been working as a janitor, because he never got back into tv. Apparentely he was hooked on pain killers after an injury in the late 50s and was taking dozens a day while he did Bewitched. When started having seizures, they replaced him with Dick Sargent. A very sad end to such a beloved actor.

It is important to note that Entertainment Tonight sensationalizes it's stories to increase viewership. It is true that DY had many ailments in his life, but he was not popping dozens of painkillers every day. Anyone who did that would be dead in a matter of weeks. It is true that he was addicted to them and that he did have a seizure on the set once. It was at that point that HE made the decision to quit. He was not fired. Unfortunately he only got a few more acting jobs in the early 80's and he did die in poverty, which was so unfortunate considering what others made off of the show. However, when one watches those tabloid magazines they need to realize that they greatly exaggerate peoples troubles as they did in DY's case.

For Dick York I would say the 'Mirror,Mirror' episode when Endora cast the spell on Darrian to make him really vain and he dresses up in this really outlandish outfit to have dinner with clients at the Tate's house. He just can't stop looking at himself in the mirror! So funny:lol:
Dick Sargent maybe the bedwarmer episode in Salem
