View Full Version : About Me
Dannie IsNotHere 07-05-2004, 08:38 PM Another random thing I thought of...
Since there are so little people here, we should tell each other a little about ourselves. Like interests, what your personality is, and etc...
I'm Danielle, I go by Dani, Danni, or Dannie. I'm 15 years old and I will be 16 on May 20th, 2005 (wow it's so far away...). My FAVORITE thing to do is sing- I really want to be a singer in the future. I like basketball and I like to swim. And I'm a shy person, unless I'm on the internet, then I can talk non-stop. Once people get to know me, I think they'd say that I'm a nice, easygoing person... unless someone sets me off, then you'd better watch out (that's very rare, though)! When school starts, I'm going to be a sophomore, and i'll be 2 years away from graduation!
Okay, so let everyone know about yourself. :)
Kristen 07-05-2004, 08:46 PM I like this thread idea, Dani! It should be fun to get to know each other a little.
OK, now about me.... My name is Kristen, as everybody knows. :) I'm 22, and I just graduated from college in May w/ a BA in English (yay for me!!). I really like to read (I'm a big Harry Potter fan!). Like Dani, I can be shy off-line, but on here, I can be pretty outgoing. I like to watch TV, especially sitcoms such as The Golden Girls, Wings, Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore. I also really enjoy posting on message boards such as this one, it's a great way to talk to people who have a common interest!
I think that's all there is about me. I don't have any pets, unless you count my goldfish that passed away a couple years ago, lol.
Can't wait to get to know everybody else!
Kristen
SexySharona 07-06-2004, 01:13 AM Hi, everybody! *waves at computer screen*
I'm Allison, Allie for short, though nobody really calls me by my nickname. Lol.
I just turned 20 on July 4th. I'm a college student majoring in Dramatic Writing (writing for stage and screen). In addition to writing scripts, I also write short stories and fanfiction.
When I'm not writing, I'm usually online talking to friends or hanging out with my non-virtual ones. Lol. I'm pretty shy in person, too, but much more outgoing online.
I love to watch TV. My favorite shows are MONK, The Nanny, Keeping Up Appearances, Strong Medicine, Degrassi, and Golden Girls. If you're wondering why MONK is in capital letters, it's because that show trumps all the others . . . only in *my* opinion, of course, so as not to offend anyone. :p
In the unfortunate event that you are clueless as to who that gal on my icon thingy is, that's Bitty Schram, who plays Sharona on MONK. I guess one could say I'm a tad . . . . infatuated with her. But just a tad . . . . Right, Kristen? *wink* Hehe.
I love movies. Some of my favorites are A League of Their Own (Remember that sweet, innocent gal who got berated for "crying in baseball"? That was Bitty Schram. Fascinating, huh? Thought so. Lol.), Airplane, Heavenly Creatures, Love & Basketball, Welcome to the Dollhouse, The Magdalene Sisters, Bonnie & Clyde, The Color Purple (I love the book, too), Whatever Happened to Baby Jane.
Other spellbinding info . . . I'm an only child. I have a collie named Dusty. I love to sing and am moderately good at it. Lol. My musical tastes are "all over the map," but my favorite singer is Madonna. "Like a virgin, touched for the very first time . . ."
Okay. I think that's about all.

Koyasu 07-06-2004, 10:10 AM Hey! Nice to get to know everybody. ^_^ My name is Juliet. I'll be 28 on the 25th of this month (crap I'm old!) I'm a singer, and have already recorded a CD. I'm working on a new one now. Hopefully, I'll get some new stuff online for you to hear soon. I graduated from Specs Howard school of Broadcast Arts in Soiuthfield, MI, but am now a full-time stay-at-home mom.
My husband's name is David, and our son, William was born on March 19th, 2003. He's the light of my life! I love anime if it's in Japanese. I don't waste my time on dubbed crap. Yaoi is the best kind. hehe . I also love reading. (I, too, love Harry Potter. Sirius Black is my favorite character. LotR too. I've love those books since childhood!) Oh, and I'm a Buffy freak. :-p
I'm going to try and attach a pic of me and my family. Hope it works.

Koyasu 07-06-2004, 10:26 AM Sorry about the double post. I tried to delete the second one, but it wouldn't work. :(
Kristen 07-06-2004, 10:54 AM Koyasu, it's great to meet a fellow Harry fan! I'm almost done re-reading Order of the Phoenix. :( Sirius, I liked him, too! If you ever want to talk to me on AIM, my name is MaryRichardsFan. Feel free to IM!
Koyasu 07-06-2004, 11:18 AM I'll look for you on AIM. ^_^
btw, speaking of Harry Potter, I learned on Mugglenet that the name of the forthcoming book will be "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince." I'm very curious who that may be.
Dannie IsNotHere 07-06-2004, 11:07 PM Man I wish I could get recorded!!! That would be so awesome!
By the way, I attempted to delete your post, since I'm a moderator for this board... but all I could do was delete the one picture... oh well. I thought I had the ability to delete the post, but it said I don't have permission.

Wow I feel so young here...
Koyasu 07-06-2004, 11:32 PM Yeah. Recording is fun. My last CD was recorded by a local musician who charged 25 bucks an hour. For this one, my music partner now has all the equiptment we need, so we're just recording at his house.
Cool! A new AIM buddy! I added you to my list. Looks like you're away. hehe

lol. I was really tired, and my mom gave me until 11. I'm almost always on during the summer- I have nothing to do since my dad sleeps because of his nighttime job.
That is REALLY cool about the recording! I once made a tape with my video camera of me singing some Fleetwood Mac songs. And I also got on this program on my computer where I can record something for one minute... I actually put it on a site. If you want to hear it, it's here (http://www.geocities.com/ohdannigirl89/FB.wav). But I must warn you- it skips A LOT. I can't explin why.
Koyasu 07-07-2004, 10:31 AM The site wouldn't work. :(
I had some music on mp3.com, but when they redid the site, it seems to have been lost. I'm gonna get the new stuff up soon, though. Probably by September. And maybe I can find someone to make an official site.
I like Fleetwood Mac, too. I also like a lot of Japanese artists like Weiss Kreuz, Psycho le Cemu, My Little Lover and Glay; Korean artists like Moon Hee Jun and H.O.T ; and, yes, some English speaking artists like Switchblade Symphony, Miranda Sex Garden and Faith and the Muse. You probably haven't heard of any of those people. lol What other music do you like?

How did I totally miss that?
I like almost any kind of music. Mostly pop/r&B such as Kelly Clarkson (who is my favorite), Usher, Clay Aiken (Yes, I'm a HUGE American Idol fan!!!), and I just got the Kimberley Locke CD, and I LOVE it! I like some oldies too, like Fleetwood Mac, as mentioned before, and The Beatles. I can't stand rap. I have the EDITED Eminem CD, and I really like MOST of it (weird, huh?).
Koyasu 07-15-2004, 10:48 AM Well, I don't like AI at all, but I have to agree with you on the Beatle and Fleetwood Mac. They both kick ass! And while we're on the subject of older artists, Patti Smith, David Bowie and Blondie also rule! And the B-52s. I saw them in concert when I was 16 (in 1992) and they were great! Everyone knows "Love Shack", but that songs sucks. You have to hear their other songs to truly apprechiate them. Oh yeah! I saw Patti Smith a couple times (and met her once) too.
