View Full Version : Do you ever get that feeling after you've eaten a lot of spaghetti? *Bela Lugosi* 07-05-2004, 04:33 PM I ate about 6 bowls of spaghetti because it was sitting in the fridge. And now I feel terrible. puke: What can I take to get rid of the feeling? Kazza 07-05-2004, 05:02 PM Take some Alka Seltzer or Pepto Bismol. It may help 'settle' all that food down or make it go out somewhere else *Bela Lugosi* 07-05-2004, 05:04 PM Thanks, I'll go get some Alka Setzer, and maybe some Ginger Ail, to move it along. laceyinthesky 07-05-2004, 05:05 PM go throw it up *Bela Lugosi* 07-05-2004, 05:07 PM Hey, watch it. laceyinthesky 07-05-2004, 05:09 PM Originally posted by *Bela Lugosi* Hey, watch it. MandieR1980 07-05-2004, 05:37 PM I don't eat pasta anymore it has way too many carbs and fills my tiny stomach up too fast. Same with bread. Ian 07-05-2004, 05:48 PM If I hear the word carbs one more time I'm going to kill myself;) It's just another fad, that I hope will pass soon. If I see the carb karma commercial one more time... *Bela Lugosi* 07-05-2004, 05:50 PM Carbs are the way of the future! If I see the carb karma commercial one more time... not for me I have to have lower carbs because of my surgery. Low fat, low carbs, low sugar LOW EVERYTHING! If I eat too many carbs I don't lose weight and I have to have 60 to 90 grams of protein everday too. Plus my grandmother lost 50 lbs doing Atkins. So it's not a fad. All these low carb foods are awesome for me because low carb means low sugar. When you have this surgery you realize how many foods you can't have because of the sugar. I feel bad for diabetics. My mother, as some of you may know, had the gastric bypass surgery a year ago. She can't have too much of anything and there are some things she can't have at all. She can't drink soda or any beverage that is carbonated because of the bubbles. They could alter the pouch and allow more food to be eaten, thus defeating the purpose of the surgery. I also agree that the Atkins diet isn't a fad. My mother said she used it and she lost some weight. This was when she was in college before she got married and had a family. Carbs aren't always bad for you though (unless you have had the gastric bypass, of course). If you need energy, they are a good source. ¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 07-05-2004, 06:01 PM I, too, am sick of seeing everything carbs. People act like its the best diet ever. Yeah, its good but whatever happened to regular diet and exercise? Too little carbs can be a bad thing too. Flat diet soda is ok but it's gross LOL One of my mom's coworkers had it and can have soda which is weird. Brian 07-05-2004, 06:38 PM Originally posted by MandieR1980 How is your mom doing BTW? Before the surgery she had a lot of trouble walking because the weight was too much for her knees. I think she's lost over 150 pounds. She's probably never felt so good in her life, or at least since I've been around. Tuesday Weld 07-05-2004, 07:12 PM Originally posted by ¤MsConanOBrien¤ I, too, am sick of seeing everything carbs. Good for her and your family. :) EricIdlefan 07-05-2004, 10:46 PM Hey I love spaghetti because I can eat it but don't use the P word or else people can and will get sick PZelda 07-05-2004, 11:01 PM 6 bowls? Are you sure? How big were they? Reason #1 you weren't feeling so good would definitely have to be because you ate too much spaghetti. Brent88 07-05-2004, 11:02 PM Originally posted by Miss Vicki 6 bowls? Are you sure? This whole thing about how bread & pasta is bad for you hasn't deterred me from eating them. I still get subs, hamburgers. I tried the wraps. It reminded me of a cold burrito. Ugh!! As long as you eat all this in moderation. But 6 bowls? I couldn't even get past 2 bowls!! At home, I can control my eating, but when I would go out to eat, I would just gorge myself so bad. One time I ate so much, I felt like crap, like I wanted to puke. I managed to get home without getting sick and laid down and took a nap(probably the worse thing you could do after eating so much). But it helped, and some of the food had digested. After that, I vowed to never do that again to myself. dandelion wine 07-06-2004, 12:13 AM A little bit of Coca Cola might help, too. phoebe7165 07-06-2004, 12:13 AM Originally posted by safety pin throw it up. and what's the P word?
