Did anyone know that when Rose Marie came to Cleveland in 1961 she first noticed Tim Conway?She was there to do a promo for her upcoming series,but she noticed local movie hosts Tim Conway and Ernie Anderson doing skits together and she really thought Tim Conway was funny.She sent films of the skits to Steve Allen,who hired Tim Conway right away.He moved to Hollywood permanently when he got the McHale's Navy job.His old partner, Ernie Anderson,followed him in 1966 and they made two comedy records.Anderson then became a comercial announcer-and in 1977 became a regular network announcer for ABC-where he stayed until his death in 1997.But who knows what either of them would've done if not for Rose Marie?
