I can't watch Dramas for some reason. They just don;t hold my interest so i would say Sitcoms before Dramas

I am fond of both sitcoms and dramas from a certain era; I love sitcoms from the late 60's to the early 1980's, but I am an ardent fan of 1970's detective shows like The Rockford Files and Columbo...But Sitcoms are my favorite..So, if I had to choose..I would choose a sitcom....

This is hard...I like to watch sitcoms from the early 50's to late 80's (with a few exceptions). And I like a lot of different dramas from all different eras. However, I prefer sitcoms because they are there when you need a good laugh.

Sitcoms first. But if both are rubbish, then genre becomes irrelevant, and I'd rather turn off the TV.

for the most part dramas just don't do anything for me, the only things i can watch that arent comedies are like:

CSI (got bored of Law & Order long ago)
Dukes of Hazzard/BJ and the Bear (i have no idea what you would classify those as)
the Sopranos/Six Feet Under
Fantasy Island, the Love Boat

I'd watch either. I'd probably sample both, decide which I like best, then watch whichever I liked more...

Both, though I tend to lean more towards a good drama/action show than a sitcom.

SITCOMS

There are only about 9 or 10 major sitcoms that I dont like.

While there are only about 9 or 10 dramas I DO like.

You do the math.

Dramas and sitcoms serve different purposes for me, so I couldn't choose one genre over another. If I want to be affected emotionally, I'll watch a drama. If I want to laugh, I'll watch a comedy.

When I was a kid it was sitcoms but now dramas by far. Very few sitcoms hold up and practically any sitcoms from the last 10-15 years I find unwatchable.

Definitely dramas. The plots are more character-driven and there's more character development. A good dramatic series can make you laugh just as well, but that's just the thing. You're not laughing 75% of the episode. An average episode of a drama is able to do all kinds of things to you.

I like both drama's and sitcoms. But I'd probably watch sitcom's first hands down. But like some other people have said it really depends on how I'm feeling.

I like Sitcoms the best and then a drama like Smallville. I'd throw in Boston Legal as a dramedy.

There's nothing like a good, quality sitcom!

I like both genres. My favourites are mostly classics, funny politically incorrect sitcoms and gritty police dramas.

I just wish they'd make some today. When I was a kid I watched probably 70% sitcoms and 30% dramas but today it's basically all dramas. The only sitcoms I watch are reruns of the classics.

Depends...I love my Bewitched, Barney Miller, Bob Newhart and MTM but I also love to settle in with Little House or Family. I guess it depends which type of mood I'm in.
