One of the side effects of really getting into Square Pegs a year and a half a ago was that I have become very interested in new wave music. I've bought CDs by The Police, Blondie, Devo, The Waitresses and "til Tuesday, but I know that there is a great deal more out there. Could some of you recommend some other new wave artists that are worth listening to? :D

my favorite new wave era bands are Human League (pick up Dare and Travelogue, those are their finest albums, Travelogue doesn't have any hit singles tho, and is MUCH MUCH darker and gothic than Dare or anything since) and ABC (pick up Lexicon Of Love and The Look Of Love:The Very Best Of ABC). Both of those bands have so much more to offer than just the songs everyone knows. Human League are very synthesizer based (even tho 1984's Hysteria album tried unsuccessfully to make them more rock sounding) and ABC are very much an 80's version of Motown. Both groups have a lot to offer and I feel are the most underrated (ok, Don't You Want Me is extremely overplayed, but there's so much more where that came from) acts who were popular during the new wave craze. However, except for the Secrets album, none of the Human League's post-Dare albums have been very good, tho they all have a few good singles
