He died at a hospital in Los Angeles, so obviously this wasn't too sudden(although I didn't know he was sick).

A few months ago, I heard that he was suffering from heart failure and he didn't have much longer to live. That sucks. He was the greatest actor of all time. On the Waterfront and the Godfather are two of the greatest movies of all time. R.I.P. Marlon. There won't ever be another actor like you again.

RIP Marlon. I just saw him in Apocalypse Now and he did so well in that movie. :(

The Godfather and Superman:The Movie(even though he was only in it a short time). Believe it or not, I've never seen "On the Waterfront". I also liked Don Juan DeMarco(sp?).

I liked him in "The Godfather." I recently saw "Apocalypse Now" in Cinema class and I really liked him in that one, too.

I wonder if Courtney Love is going to show up at the funeral, I remember hearing last year that DNA tests proved that he is her grandfather (Courtney's mom was an "accident" Marlon had but never heard of until many years later from his days in college)

He actually died last night. The Phoenix CBS station broke the news at 10 last night, and the NY Post had a writeup about it today in the paper. The national news channels didn't break the story til around 11:15am ET this morning. He was suffering from some heart problems.

Yes, I agree he was a great actor but I consider Paul Newman the greatest/greater actor .:D RIP Marlon!

I didn't know who he was. I've SEEN Superman, numorous times, I love that movie, but I didn't know him by name. It wasn't until I heard my dad say that he was in it that I realized who he was.


Anyways, RIP, it's still sad even though I barely knew who he was.

Yes Newman is a great actor. I wouldn't say he's better than Brando. Then again I can't really say Brando was better than Newman. So I guess Brando and Newman are tied for the greatest actors ever.

I just heard- and I was really shocked. Just yesterday I was reading a 5 page story in 'Empire' saluting Brando in their '5 Greatest Living Actors' series. I was thinking it was good Marlon had signed up to be in 'Brando and Brando' playing himself- then today, this shock.
