in the full house episode"stephenie gets framed" nobody knows for sure why that other black girl was never on family matters,abc never explained this,and i think she was made especially for full house. although full house takes place in san francisco, it was also made by miller boyett,so it was natural for steve urkel to show up at the tanners residents.

also, notice that punky brewster also takes place in chicago, the same setting as family matters, but since punky brewster was not made by miller boyett, it would'nt be natural for family matters characters to guest star on they're since the two shows are in different universese.

Both crossovers with Steve Urkel appearing on Full House and Step by Step made no sense. Step by Step which was based in Wisconsin and FH being based in San Fran made it kind of odd that urkel was in both of those cities all the way from Chicago without a real explanation on how he got there-LOL. And Steve landing in the Lamberts backyard from being in a space suit was just crazy.

Well i don;t think a crossover between Punky Brewster and Family Matters was possible anyway because PB ended in 1986 and FM started in 1989. Plus the two shows was on two Different networks. FM-ABC and PB-NBC

actually, punky brewster ended in 1988, and your right, it would'nt be possible for family matters characters to cameo on punky brewster anyway or the other way around,because by the time punky brewster was running 5 years before family matters, steve urkel was'nt thought up back then.

it also would'nt be possible for punky brewster characters to guest star on family matters either because those two shows were produced by different companies and don't occur in the same universe.(even though they both take place in chicago)
