View Full Version : TV Show that did not belong on the ABC TGIF Lineup between 1989-1996
TVFactFan 06-30-2004, 11:55 PM PERFECT STRANGERS!!!!!! This show had no business being on the ABC Friday night lineup. Now the others shows were fine to watch
Family Matters
Step by Step
Hangin with Mr. Cooper
Boy Meets World.
I'm glad ABC had enough sense to pulled Full house off the TGIF schedule-lol

I like Perfect Strangers. It was good until season 5. Then the show went downhill. The 5th season started in 1989 so I agree that it didn't belong on the TGIF lineup in 1989.

 BMW def. belonged, it was a TGIF staple, notice how when BMW ended, so did TGIF ;)
I would say Full House, it just wasn't TGIF material IMO.
The best TGIF was when it was Sabrina, The Teenage Witch, BMW, Family Matters, and whatever ;)
If you read his post more closely, you would see that he said BMW is fine to watch.

 I did read that wrong, sorry Solomon
James 07-01-2004, 01:26 AM I personally thought Dinosaurs was an odd fit.
ClassicTV4Ever 07-01-2004, 08:49 AM Hmmm...Camp Wilder is the only one I can really think of. It was a family sitcom like all the others, but it was just so stupid.

factsoflife 07-03-2004, 01:09 AM Going Places. first of all it was un-funny and second it was too adult.
Am i the only one that thought TGIF got really bad after Family Matters, Step-By-Step and Boy Meets World got canceled and all they had left was mutliple Sabrina airings.
factsoflife 07-03-2004, 01:10 AM Just The Ten Of Us- I LOVED this show, but it didn't belong on TGIF. it was too mature and should have been on a different night.
does anyone know the line-up for all the TGIF line-ups from the first year to the last year?

IMO TGIF ended when Boy Meets World ended.
factsoflife 07-03-2004, 04:09 PM Wasn't Once and Again in the TGIF Friday line-up at one point? I think this years TGIF line-up was one of the best since TGIF started.

Well it must have been on the Friday lineup in the 60's because i didn't see that show listed as being on Friday in the last 30 years. Maybe you have the title of the show wrong.
Mr. Television 07-04-2004, 12:25 AM Once And Again aired Fridays at 10:00 during the 2001-2002 season but their was no TGIF that season.

:yeahthat
TGIF ended in May 2000. They still had a Friday night lineup, but it wasn't called TGIF. TGIF came back in Sept. 2003.

Which explains why it wasn't listed in the 7th edition of the Directory to Primetime Network and Cable tv shows-LOL!!!!!!-LOL
