When Captain asked Stacey what the leading cause of death for pregnant women was and she said murder. Is that right? Cuz that's horrible, and kinda surprising.

It probably is though. kadeliah 06-29-2004, 04:48 PM acutally it is very true. i have read about it many many times in the local paper. i remember hearing about a move to bring about a law that would charge a person that kills a pregnant woman with 2 murders instead of just one. not sure if that one passed or not. it was pretty controversial, for obvious reasons. but yea, it's true. bananasplit 06-29-2004, 08:28 PM Originally posted by kadeliah acutally it is very true. i have read about it many many times in the local paper. i remember hearing about a move to bring about a law that would charge a person that kills a pregnant woman with 2 murders instead of just one. not sure if that one passed or not. it was pretty controversial, for obvious reasons. but yea, it's true. That's sad :( dovesong 06-30-2004, 12:41 PM Originally posted by bananasplit That's sad :( Unfortunately most of the women killed in domestic violence situations are the ones trying to leave. Like they've told their mates they are leaving and so they kill them. Many women get pregnant thinking that will curb the violence and it generally escalates instead. So then more babies are born into abuse situations and they learn to abuse or be abused as adults. How sad is this? A lot of you girls are young, like pre-marriage age. A guy who is controlling, isn't doing it because "Oh, I love you." It is a pattern of behavior that gets worse, not better, and YOU CANNOT CHANGE THEM. Rule you life with your head not your heart. Don't become a statistic! |
