Helen poured him the cup of coffee. "What's wrong, Brian? Did you just come back from a long flight or something?"


Sorry that's all I could come up with, but at least it keeps the conversation moving. :) I'll get better as time goes on, I promise.

"Oh man, Helen. I don't even want to think about how many long flights I've had today. When I'm more awake, and my head isn't ready to fall and smack against the table, I'll tell you the whole life story of the passenger who sat next to me on the last flight! We're talking epic, best-selling novel stuff here!" he said sarcastically.

Fay overhears the two and says "Ooooh! Did i hear someone say epic? I looooove epics. I remember watching Lawrence of Arabia twice in one seating!"

Roy looked up from his coffee cup and rolled his eyes. "Pipe down, toots." He looked at Brian with a wicked glint in his eye. "What's wrong, Hackett? You're taking your brother's flights? Where is that big airline mogul anyway?"

Brian took another sip of coffee and rolled his eyes. "Ugh, I don't know where Joe is, actually. Lately, he always has an excuse for not being here! That's supposed to be my job! I'm supposed to find excuses to give my flights to him, and he's supposed to yell at me for it, and give me the responsibility speech."

"I also noticed that Joe's a little jumpy these days. This morning I ran up behind him at the parking lot and when I tapped his shoulder he looked at me as if he saw a ghost!!!"

Fay turns to Roy, gives him a deadly look and says "I know what you'll gonna say! So zip it."

"Heh heh. No Fay, I don't think you *really* know what I was going to say." Roy took another sip of coffee, then pointed at Brian. "Hey! I know what Joe's been doing. He finally realized Sandpiper is a big fat failure, and he had to take a second job so you bozos can keep your heads above water."

"No, Roy. I know Joe. There is no other job he could possibly handle besides flying. Unless, of course, he found a job as a housekeeper or something like that."


<Antonio walks in>



"Hey, guys, you won't believe what I just heard! Joe apparently got some job as a janitor at the high school."

[ROY]
Snickers uncontrollably. "Bozos!"

"Ohhhh, you're kidding, Antonio!" Suddenly, Brian wasn't so tired. "You mean my brother, mister businessman himself, is working as a janitor at the HIGH SCHOOL?" Brian laughed, but suddenly felt sorry for his brother. Things must be really bad if he had to get a second job- a really crappy one at that. Brian now looked concerned.

Casey enters in the middle of Brian's question. "Who's working as a janitor?"

Brian turned to Casey, still looking concerned. "Joe.", he answered.

Casey sits down at the counter and crosses her legs. "Joe the Janitor... go figure." She laughed a bit, then realized something. "How do you know anyway? He's too proud to come out and say anything."

Can I be Joe?

*Joe walks in*

Joe: Hey guys what's going on?

yes, you can be Joe! :D Joe wasn't already taken, right guys?

"Hey hey hey Joe, Joey, umm let me ask you something." Brian said with a nervous laugh. "Uhh... so what have you been doing with all of your time when you're not here at the airport?" he asked, trying to see if Joe would admit that he took a second job.

Casey looked at Brian. "I'm telling you, he's too proud!" She noticed that she said that with Joe right next to her. "We were talking about... politics!" She smiled brightly trying to cover her mistake.

Joe: Nothing really. Why do you ask? *Looks at Casey*. Politicts?

Helen decided it would be best to not mention Joe's second job until he did. "So, uh, Joe, got any plans for tonight? I thought maybe we could see a movie or something after work."

"Yeah, maybe we could all go. I hear there is a really great movie theater by the HIGH SCHOOL..." She focused the words towards Joe, not really wanting to look like she was suspicious of him.

I wish I could, but I have to stay here late tonight.
*Joe was getting a little worried they knew about his job but decided not to say anything about it. Not for awhile at least*

Helen gave Casey a "look" for mentioning the high school. Then she turned back to Joe. "If you're busy tonight, that's no big deal. We can do it some other time." Helen hoped the others would follow her lead in not pressuring Joe to tell them about his second job.

She shot a look back at Helen as she spoke. "Well, if no one has anything else to do, why don't we all just hang around here tonight? We could order in, pull out Faye's fun box thing..."

hey guys, I'm leaving tomorrow morning for vacation (going to Cape Cod, and while I'm there, I'm spending a day in Nantucket! :D ), so can you guys holf off on the fic until I get back on Friday? I'd really appreciate it, because I'm having fun with this, and we're in the middle of a scene that Brian is in. I'll still be around today though, until about 5:00, because I'm at boring work right now. So we can probably continue until then, if anyone is around. Usually Sundays are pretty quiet around here, though....
Oh, and I think we really need Fay in here. I think she'd have some comebacks for the insults on her fun box. makulit is Fay.. I'll PM her and tell her we need Fay.
So yeah, can we continue this until about 5:00 tonight, and then pick it back up on Friday when I get back? I appreciate it!

Yea, I know. Well this job doesn't pay me nearly enough, so I decided to take the janitor job half time, until I raised atleast half of it. *He put his arms around Helen.* I wanted you to have the wedding you deserve

A beautiful young woman walks into the airport. She sees the group of people standing around the lunch counter, and her gaze immediately fixes on Joe. She smiles. "Hi, Joe!"

Hey, Lori right? *Joe sees an old man sitting at the Lunch Counter. It's Carlton.*

Brian spots Carlton Blanchard walk in. Quickly, he looks around to see where he could escape to in order to avoid him, but he is unable to before Carlton sees him, so he has no choice other than to walk over.
"Uh Carlton? I-I thought you didn't have a son." Brian joined in on the conversation.

*Lowell runs out of Roy's office screaming*

"It was j-just a hug! AHHHH."

Looks amused at all the crazy people in the airport. She sits her suitcase on the floor. "Wow, Joe. You really are a pilot! But I can see why you might prefer the high school -- it's so much -- calmer."

"Oh.... Yea... " Carlton notices Joe and calls him over. Joe reluctantly trudges over there not wanting to deal with Carlton it had been two glorious years. Carlton then notices Casey and comments. "Hey... Cherry... Hehehehe." He takes his attention back to Joe. So, Joe I have extra tickets.... To... Fiddler on the Roof want to go?"
[Carlton]

Brian heard Joe agree to go to "Fiddler On The Roof" with Carlton as long as Brian went. Brian studied Joe's face looking to see if he could tell whether he really wanted to go or not. After a short pause, Brian said, "Yeah, sure. I'll go."

Damn it, I only said I'd go, becasue I thought you wouldn't

Helen couldn't help laughing to herself at Brian and Joe. "Oh, don't get so upset, Joe. It's just for one night." Under her breath she added, "It's not as bad as having Carlton stay at your house!"
