What was your reaction to the theme song when you first heard it? What was other people you know saying about the song when the Jeffersons made it's debut? Was it Negative feedback? I'm asking because in 1975 TV guide critic said the theme song was AWFUL.

The critics were WRONG. I don't remember much discussion about the theme itself, but we talked about how it was sung by Willona from Good Times. The theme rocks though.

Yeah he made fun of the entire song. I wonder how Willona got the chance to sing the Jeffersons Theme Song. I'm wondering did she have a singing background.

She could sing though. That kind of theme called for someone who could really knock it out. She hums in the closing credits too.

There was one episode where she sung on stage in season 5. You would think it would have been more since she was good at singing.

I saw that Good Times episode recently. She sang a very dramatic version of For Once In My Life, but I fast forwarded the tape because I found the episode boring. She sang in the talent show episode in year 6 also when she, Janet Jackson, Bernadette and Esther Rolle were the pointless sisters and did "Steam Heat" which I suppose is a real Pointer Sisters' song, but I'm not familiar with it.

Speaking of talent shows, isn't the last Jeffersons episode a talent show plot? I never saw it and am wondering what each of the performers did in this show? I can't imagine any of the 6 remaining regulars being great vocalists. Marla Gibbs sang 227's theme but I wouldn't consider her capable of doing some showstopping number. Nor any of the others.

I never had a chance to see the very last episode of the Jeffersons
