Remember te Mexican guy on the commitee who constantly said-"I DIDN"T KNOW THAT" What else was he famous for in the 70's? Did he star in a Variety Show or Movie? I'm asking because he was also o a episode of CPO Sharkey and said-"I DIDN"T KNOW THAT" about 8 times.

I think he made two appearances on Sanford and Son. The other appearance was when Lamont had to go to court to fight a traffic ticket.

His name is Sosimo Hernandez, and this is all I could find on him according to the Internet Movie Database.

Actor - filmography
(1980s) (1970s)

Maya (1989)
Emmanuelle 6 (1988) (as 'Tatata')
Losin' It (1983) .... Night Club Barker
Going Ape! (1981) .... Flugist
On the Nickel (1980)
Underground Aces (1980) .... Uncle Fausto
Norman... Is That You? (1976) .... Desk Clerk

Notable TV Guest Appearances

"Sanford and Son" (1972) playing "Mr. Rodriguez" in episode: "Committee Man" (episode # 6.7) 12 November 1976
"Sanford and Son" (1972) playing "Lopez" in episode: "Fred Sanford, Legal Eagle" (episode # 3.15) 11 January 1974
"Corrigan Blake" (1962) playing "Guard" in episode: "You Can't Win Them All" (episode # 1.0) 2 February 1962

Maybe he did an uncredited cameo on CPO Sharkey, 'cause it doesn't mention that at all.

Pffffffffffftt, is that all you wanted? "I didn't know that!"

Uh ahem, seriously, I am assuming that he said that phrase in whatever show he guest-starred in.

I think only a person who watched Sanford and Son during it's run can answer my question. I'm trying to find out where the phrase came from and only a person who was around in the 70's can answer this question.

I watched S&S during its run in the 1970s and am familiar with the character actor and the phrase.

I don't recall the actor being on other shows or elsewhere using that phrase as a signature line of some sort.

His use of the line, however, is exactly like the distinguished-looking white male character actor who often appeared and greeted Fred with "Yesssssssssssss", then derided him very sarcastically. Also the white female character actress whose signature line was "Well, I never", normally drawing a derisive comment from Fred.

That guy that did the Yeeeeesssss? Was also on the Flintstones when Fred went to buy Wilma a piano. He was accused of being the burglar known as 88 Fingers Louie.

That "yes" guy was very annyoing!! He did lay our some insulting and very funny comments however.

Salesman: "I can always tell about a man by his decerning taste in jewelry."

Lamont: "Thank you very much!"

Salesman: "Now, how long has your girlfriend been a gipsy?"

Lamont: "Why you....#$%^&&$&$^$^#$#$#$!!!!"
