"time flies when you're flat on your face"

dave goes through mental turmoil as his father comes to town with marriage plans. they reunite just in time for dave to meet his new stepmother to be, who turns out to be his ex-that was.
dave works out his problems. richard is named the new best man, so david pelts him and takes over. dave stops the wedding and takes stephanie to another room to talk it over.
paul sorvino guest stars as dave's father.
funny part is when dave and stephaine go to the other room, kids are rehearsong a musical act to the disney song "it's a small world".

This is an episode where Maddie really comes through for David...she is his rock and without her, this would have been a major disaster.

I love the "back from vacation" beginning:

D: "This is a stick-up...Give me all your clothes, and por favor, do it quickly."

M: "You're gonna need a bigger gun."

And what a tremendous scene between Maddie and David in the parking garage where she discovers him drunk and pathetic in the back seat of her car....

D: "I guess I just went out and and it's entirely possible that I was overserved."

great to see that the dave we all loved was back just as fun as before.

Greaaat episode!!! I was laughing so hard with David singing "Para bailar la bamba..." hahahaha He's so crazy... hehehe :lol: :lol: :lol:

Another funny part is when he sees his dad's girlfriend and he is on the floor running... haha Then he locks himself in the bathroom... Very funny, really...

the way maddie ran in the bathrom after him was great. showed not only embarrassment, but concern. great argument in there too.

I always think of this episode as kind of a set up to Big Man on Mulberry Street, which occurred later in the same season. This was the season opener in which David really started to let his guard down with Maddie so she could see another side to him. Both episodes were about something in David's past that forced him to confront an issue. In both he confided in Maddie, bringing them closer together. And the dancing at the end could melt butter!

These people can LOOK at eachother ia such a way.............

Taz asks "Can we visualize this?? " concerning the stick up and giving him all her clothes.....slowly.

I would say probably not.... every time we have seen the two of them together in such a moment....things seem pretty urgent and the clothes get shed pretty quickly.

this was a wonderful episode.

i love the way this series shows maddie working late at night, in the office alone.

i love the way maddie backed off from david and his father argueing in the bathroom. art imitating life again. something moonlighting does very well.

the variety of music:

yankee rose-david lee roth
sweet love-anita baker
walt disneys its a small world.
moonlighting managed to put all of these songs in one episode. the care and love the production staff puts into moonlighting is amazing.

maddie told david that she had missed him. he just smiled. but at the first opportunity he had he asked her on a date- his fathers wedding.

the way these two dance feels like making love slowly standing up. very sensual. i really want these two to get together. i'm tempted to read ahead at other posts to see if they do, but i will not. (even if it kills me). this is very hard, because if they do not get together, i'm going to feel frustrated. heck, i already am frustrated. maybe i need to go out more. all i know is that moonlighting stirs up all kinds of feelings. sigh.

I love it when they dance -- even in the fifth season.
