Here is another one for ya all - does anyone remember a case about two teenage boys (I think they were hunters) and they were out hunting I believe on halloween and their bodies somehow ended up on the railroad tracks with I believe garbage bags placed over them and were subsequently run over by the train.

I believe both boys were spotted around the area of the tracks with flashlights and gear several hours before they ended up on the tracks

Anyone remember more details?

Later.

Yeah. The story was that the boys had smoked some marijuana, and fallen asleep on the tracks, only to be hit by the train some time later. The parents believed they were murdered. The train crew reported that the boy's bodies were laid scross the tracks neatly, and partially covered with a tarp (which was never found). Further, an autopsy showed that the boys might have been stabbed, and one of them was dead before the train hit. There were also reports of strange activites in the area at the time, possibly relating to drug smuggling. Most likely the kids saw something they should not have, and were killed.

The murders took place on August 23, 1987 in Mena, Arkansas and the victims were Don Henry and Kevin Ives. This was Episode #2 of the 1st season and the same episode as the D.B. Cooper Case.

WOW!!! - Thanks for the info CS, this thing goes much deeper then UM really profiled it as being. I always believed they saw something they should not have but I didn't know the law was involved

I'm stunned

That one sounds creepy, and those earlier episodes are so erie and I know many of you think the same. I've never seen that segment and the fact that there was a tarp over them before the train went over them is very, very suspicous. It' like who ever killed them didn't want the conductor on the train to see that there were people laying on the tracks. If they were found laying on the tracks without anything hiding them, it would've been a different story. Also the facts that the one was dead before the train ran over him and stab wounds were found, are also suspicious.

Jeez the boys were stabbed! This truly sickens me if you take the parents account at face value then the Arkansas government has a lot of explaining to do. Not that shooting them would be any better but to viciously stab two teenage boys because they witnessed a "drug drop" really needs to be further investigated and the killers brought to justice. There is a book out on it called "The Boys On The Tracks" which I've ordered and will let you all know how it turns out.

The murders took place in Alexander, Arkansas, which is just southwest of Little Rock, in the middle of the state. Mena, near the Oklahoma state line, is where the drug operation was run.

I can remember my grandfather telling me about this case shortly after it happened. (It was a pretty big story in this part of the country.) I've been debating the past few weeks whether or not to buy the video on the id files website. I think I might. I'd appreciate reading JohnMill's book review.

I have that book, it's well worth the price. The murders may very well be connected to the drug ring operated by Barry Seal, which it looks like was part of Iran Contra and/or the Arkansas governor at the time, who was none other than Bill Clinton. It may have even involved then-VP George Bush, who it's reported was pals with Seal.
