I need some advice from you guys. These past few days have been terrible for me with School, Friends, Family and everything like that and I've been stressing out lots and I can't get my mind off of it. Because I'm a bit of a worrier and I get Panic attack and stuff. and I feel like I'm gonna go crazy here! So what would you recommend to a Worrier who wants to relax and get his mind off of things for a bit?

Go to the beach. :) Worked for me.

Perhaps taking a long bath with a CD of your fave songs playing in the background?

Just a suggestion. The long bath DOES help, though. :)

I would.....but I live in the Middle of Canada. Not too many beaches in Calgary, Alberta

Yeah the nap seems like a good idea. But the thing is I won't be able to sleep because I'll be thinking about all that stuff.

Yeah, a nice hot bath might help.

OK then... I agree with what everyone else said. Try a nap or a long hot bath. RELAX. :)

I wish I could recommend something, but I'm looking for the answer, too.

Relax by not relaxing, basically. Go for a walk or a bike ride. Getting active is really good in helping to clear your mind of those cobwebs of despair. Plus you get the physical benefits as well!:)
And then after you do that, then take a nice bath.

Is Paxil helping at all? I have Social Anxiety and I'm really anxious and uptight all the time? what are the side effects? how long have you been on it?

When Im stressing on something, I tend to try and cover it up and blank it out, which I usually am able to do after a while. Umm... I usually go for a drive around town til I feel bored and want to go back home. I find thinking in the car easier on my mind. Or pop in a tape of your favorite TV show or something.. something thatll make you happy.

I usually light some aromatherapy candles in my room, turn some loud metal music on, and smoke a cigarette. But don't take that last part...

Seriously, it's pretty easy for me to relax these days seeing as I'm on about 5 different medications, but for someone who needs to relax, I'd say take a walk and then take a long, hot shower. Maybe some tea afterwards will help.

Hmmm, I can't sleep. I've been thinking of taking Nyquil or something to knock me out. (I really need the sleep, I have a Diploma exam tomorrow!) so do you think its safe to do that?
