View Full Version : "sleep talkin' guy"
"we're a team maddie, spinks and holmes, sears and roebuck, jeckle and jeckle.."
dave's new found popularity has everyone in a funk. he uses a hooker to tell him what her customer says in his sleep at night. he talks about crimes before they happen. so dave foils the crime.
dave and maddie miss each other but WILL NOT admit it. they have no time together as the media is all over dave. he even gets offered a job on tv in his own detective show.
this was a good episode. only thing wrong with it is the lack of dave and maddie together. but it needed that for continuity.
rating: 6
CindyK 06-21-2004, 04:54 PM Ya know, in this episode I cannot figure out who I feel sorrier for...Maddie for thinking that David is leaving her behind....or David for being so lonely without her.
I just love the scene where Maddie comes into David's dark office where he has returned at night and she wants to talk to him and she keeps telling him not to look at her so she can tell him how proud she is of him and how badly she feels for not believing him earlier and for criticizing him. And he keeps trying to interrupt her to tell her the truth about what is going on.
david&maddie4ever 06-21-2004, 10:20 PM Oh, this was a great episode.

Excellent scene...one of the few I really remember well.
marla 10-25-2004, 03:11 AM david to maddie:
all work and no play makes any girl a lousy....partner.
i learned that maddie is really bored without david.
and i learned that david thought that if he was a success 'the rest of his life would start happening too'.
and it's not. maddie is telling him that they've outgrown each other. and that david shouldn't work for her.
nice episode.
I dunno, I don't think I really liked this episode very much. To me it seemed to be lacking some spark.
Though the few scenes there are with David and Maddie are good ones. And that's a great punch Maddie throws at the end
CindyK 12-11-2004, 01:25 PM This is a rather oddball episode. The idea that they are solving crimes related to mob hits is well out of the realm of usual ML cases. And it sucks that David lies so much to Maddie in this one. Not telling her the truth about the tips and then trying to make himself look like a great crime solver. But then Maddie is kinda cruel to him at the beginning.
This episode just was kind of jarring for those who are in the groove with what goes on at Blue Moon and what is charming about the characters.
The second season ends with two rather oddball episodes. This one and Camille.

Yes, that's a better way of putting what I was trying to say. Thank you :)
In retrospect, I think the conversation where Maddie says they've outgrown each other but she's glad they got to work together for awhile is sadly prophetic, particularly given how Bruce's star rose during and after the show. It makes this episode seem a little depressing to me. :(
kismet 12-11-2004, 06:43 PM I never liked this episode. It had a couple of scenes that I liked, but overall, I just didn't enjoy it.
marla 12-12-2004, 10:48 AM i just pretend it's not moonlighting and then it's a nice episode for me.
Dutchie 12-12-2004, 12:15 PM Nope, not one of my faves (that's the reason why I taped over it...also because I didn't know the show was gonna end)
I can't remember a lot of it. Only that David got all the attention and Maddie was bored. The punch at the end was great tho. Was it David she punched? (if it was, he diserved it:p )
Yes, it was David she punched cause she was livid with him
SweetCakes 12-28-2004, 02:36 PM I actually quite liked this episode. Although I can understand why people may not like it.
It did seem a bit depressing with Maddie and David both being lonely, but I thought that made it good because they could both see that they needed each other.
My favourite scene in this episode was when Maddie turned up at the bar with David's unfinished letter in hand yelling,
"Addison!"
Ah, poor David. She really dropped him in it there
