There was a game show in the late-80s I believe, run on daytime network TV. I could've sworn it was Blockbusters, but now I doubt it. Anyway, this show had celebrity players, and the one thing I remember was one player would use a dynamite-type plunger to cut out sound every so often as their teammate spoke.
I also believe this was in repeats on USA Network at one point. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

The show was Blackout, hosted by Bob Goen. CBS 1988. Replaced $25,000 Pyramid in January...Replaced in April by...$25,000 Pyramid.

The show was never meant to run beyond 13 weeks. Family Feud with Ray Combs was supposed to debut in April. The show wasn't ready, so, for what may be the first time in network history, CBS listened to viewer demand, and brought $25,000 Pyramid back for the next 13 week cycle until Feud was ready.

To date, Blackout is the only game show in history to both replace and be replaced by the same version of the same show (Essentially, $25,000 Pyramid merely went on a 13-Week hiatus, ala games in the UK)
