In an ep of Dragnet 1970, Joe satys at Bill's while the latter's wife is away. Bill gets asked (by his neighbor) if killing a door to door salesman is punishable by how many years (or something nlike that). The neighbor wanted to bump off a door-to-door saleslady. Joe's standing right there and hears the whole thing. Don't you think Joe should have took alarm at the conversation. Instead he doesn't.
