I was surprised to see Homer on the list too. I was shocked when Cliff was number 2. I just knew he was going to be number one since he is considered-THE PERFECT TV DAD-lol

why wouldn't he be? just because he wasn't on a show that ended over 25 years ago doesn't mean he's any less of a famous "tv dad". Remember the big deal in 1990 when Simpsons moved up against Cosby on Thursday nights?

Maybe because really, especially when compared to some of the other dads, he's really not a great dad. He has his moments, but basically, he was drawn to be everything Cosby wasn't.

Which is why Homer is funnier.

However, the TV Land producer of that show said they weren't getting the best dads, but the most popular dads. So that's how they can put Homer Simpson and Ozzy Osbourne in there. And I still don't consider "The Osbournes" a sitcom. Why does everyone else?

Fred is known as a TV Dad. The title even being "Sanford and Son." I sometimes forget that George is even a dad. When I think of TV Dad, I think of shows about a family. Like, "The Donna Reed Show", "Family Matters", "Full House". The Jeffersons may be a family, but when I think "Jeffersons", I mainly just think George and Weezie. And actually, If I made the list, Fred Sanford would not be on it.

Well the sons of Fred and George were grown men so that's probably why you didn't seem them as TV Dads. What about James Evans?

Yes I see James Evans as a TV Dad. In fact, he might have made my list, but I tend to forget about him sometimes.

And I guess you're right about Fred and George. Lamont and Lionel were grown up, so it's harder to see Fred and George as TV Dads, when there are no children around.
