View Full Version : What was the greatest and darkest moment in FoL history?
Mr. Garrett 11-21-2001, 01:44 AM The Facts of Life had the dubious distinction of being a spin-off that outlasted it's parent show. Few have ever done that and the show lasted 9 years and trancended 2 generations. (Disco and New Wave) I am wondering what you thought was the show's finest hour and darkest hour. (Reunions and cancelations don't count http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif )
Here's my picks, enjoy!
Finest Hour: Sex Symbol (Season 2) Natalie shows some backbone and her character grows in the face of Jo and Blair's expanded camera time.
Darkest Hour: Two words: Sexy Lingere. Sorry guys but the site of Jo jamming with El Debarge was a true sign of "Jumping The Shark".
Those are mine, let's hear yours!
L8ER G8ERS!

I believe VERY strongly that Debra Barone and Robert Barone belong together. If they got married, she would be Debra Barone Barone. Saves on monograms.

Mrs. G: I thought her boyfriend was Robert.
Blair: He is.
Mrs. G.: Where is he?
Tootie: Upstairs.
Mrs. G: Well, who's that?
Blair: Harper.
Mrs. G.: Who's he?
Blair and Tootie: Her boyfriend.
Mrs. G.: Of course. How silly of me. Got it.

ZeldaGilroy 11-22-2001, 08:37 AM GREATEST: When Jo moves to California and everyone says their good-byes. All of the characters were teary-eyed and it was a truly beautiful moment. I cried when I saw it when it originally aired, and again when it re-ran on Nick@Nite. I believe it should have been the final episode.
DARKEST: I'm not trying to offend anyone here, but I'd have to say the introduction of Pippa!
Michele35 11-22-2001, 09:32 AM finest hour: classic season 3,,,hard to pick just one ep,,maybe 4 musketeers
darkest hour: i agree that the el debarge and stacy q eps were scary bad,,glad tvland had the sense not to show these on the marathon
------------------
Tootie: Muffy? Her name is Muffy? What kind of person is named Muffy?
Jo: Beats me, Tootie.
folfan01 11-22-2001, 03:38 PM Finest: When Jo came to Eastland.
Darkest: Blair's car accident.
Max Whittaker 11-22-2001, 03:48 PM FINEST: New Girl
DARKEST: Less Than Perfect
FOL & DS fan 4ever 11-22-2001, 06:39 PM Why don't reunions and cancellations count?

When was that?
Jo decided to move to California in the ep "Rights to Passage part 2." That ep was followed by "Down and Out in Malibu parts 1 and 2" in which the other girls decided to visit Jo in Malibu.
Note- these eps ran between Seasons 8 and 9.
FolFanatic151 11-22-2001, 07:38 PM Darkest Moments: Hmmm Brian and Sylvia, the really 80's hair and clothes, some others
Finest Moments: paint fight, towards the end of Shoplifting, Blair and Jo in Magnificent Obsession, Concentration

I am but the address is a Mrs. Garrett reference. (Edna's home town.)
As for reunions and cancellations not counting that's because it's too easy to say the darkest hour of the show was it's cancellation because realistically we all agree with that.
Here's another finest and darkest:
Finest Hour Alternate: When Jo and Eddie eloped, (almost!)
Darkest Hour Alternate: Blair's near denouncement of God. I must add that the idea of Jo wanting to be a nun out of nowhere was pretty lame.

Sound logical. Reasonable enough.
Finest hour: Classic Eastland-era episodes like 4 Musketeers.
Darkest hour: The opening of Over Our Heads. Not that there weren’t some good episodes after that, but in general this seemed to signal the downward swing of the series, in my opinion.
disturbed child 11-25-2001, 03:25 AM Finest Hour: Every single episode with Mrs G, Blair, Jo, Natalie and Tootie in it.
Darkest Hour: Every single episode with Beverly Ann, Andy and Pippa in it.

If you dont like any of the episodes with Andy then you must not like a lot of eps.. he came on the show in like mid season six and stayed for the next 3.. so thats awhile and a lot of eps
Gemini_89 08-07-2018, 04:55 AM Finest Hour: The Tootie centric episodes
The Darkest Hour: When they "tamed" Jo in the later seasons.
