I bought a 10-ep 2-DVD set of The Lucy Show tonight at Best Buy and was happy to find among the eps two (one on each DVD) first season eps w/ the original cartoon opening and cartoon scrolling of the writer and director credits. The other eight eps are from the LA-based years w/ the kaleidoscope opening. There are also a few trivia questions and old commercials (unrelated to the show) on the DVDs as well. My question is are there any eps from season 2 & 3 in color w/ the original opening credits (not the kaleidoscope opening that NaN showed w/ all color eps)? I found video of those seasons' opening credits at http://www.youns.com/lucy/lsvideo.asp . You can hear the openings and see them in the tiny tv screen window. I'd love to find video of these, as they originally looked.

About 5 or 6 years ago, Columbia House released 5 tapes with 4 episodes on each tape. 18 out of the 20 episodes were from the Vivian Vance years (1962-1965). There is episodes from the first three seasons with their original opening credits. All of the episodes are digtally remastered and are uncut. I own 4 of the 5 tapes released. Sadly, Columbia House stopped releasing the show on tape and Columbia House no longer offers the series.
If you are interested in these tapes, try ebay or some video retal stores. Your best luck would be ebay, because that is where I got my tapes and they appear on the site very often.

I have all 5 of those tapes, and love them! My parents purchased them straight from CH for me in 1999 (delivered through 2000-2001), and I believe they spent well over $100 - but it was worth it! Nowhere else can you see the original credits from season 2 and 3, or such beautiful remastering on any of the episodes. Even though they're VHS the picture and sound quality completely blows the cheap DVD releases out of the water. I would never part with them.
