Anyone know how Popular Clifton Davis was in 1976? I was watching a ep of Good Times yesterday and Thelma told Florida not to throw a newspaper away because Clifton Davis Picture was on that particular page. Was Clifton doing anything major in 1976? Or was that a Joke you think?

BTW:Cifton Davis starred on That's My Mama in 1974-75

Prior to starring in "That's My Momma," Clifton Davis had a summer replacement show with Melba Moore on CBS. Clifton was also big in the music industry as a writer. He wrote "Never Can Say Goodbye," and "Dance Machine."

OK. I thought it was a joke because someone in the audience was laughing when Thelma mentioned Clifton Davis name. Were those songs out in the mid 70's?

Never knew that, interesting info. He played a Sports fanatic that was more interested in the football game than his wife played by Stanis; she played a model who was the same first grade class as Isaac; she tried to get her husband jealous by pretending that she was having an affair with Isaac, which was a joke, because Clifton Davis is handsome, and Isaac puts the U in Ugly....

Another interesting note about that episode on the Love Boat is "Isaac" played Junior on That's my Mama! So that was like a reunion for them. But anyway Clifton was pretty popular back then as I remember. Some of the jealous brothers tried to claim he was gay with of all people Michael Jackson!!! Who was only a child at the time!!!

Yeah I'm serious!. Jealousy is awful! Both Clifton and Michael were very popular in those days (when Michael was seemingly normal!)

LOL-He just was extra feminine in those episodes. But in the later seasons he did not act like that. Just the first three seasons
