Not sure if this has been brought up here before or not...
Did you notice that Radar is missing some fingers on one of his hands?
They always managed to strategically place it behind things like a clipboard, or a salt shaker at the mess tent, in his pocket, or the under side of his bugle and of course behind his teddy bear.
It makes watching M*A*S*H reruns fun all over again.
By the way, any Odd Couple fans here?
You gotta check out these funny shirts I found.

Yes, Gary Burghoff's left hand was missing some fingers, a physical deformity I believe.
He did a pretty good job of hiding it throughout the series but you cold see it every once in a while.
Welcome to Sitocms Online, BTW.

I never noticed that before! Now I have to go back and look!

Yep! That's why he's holding the drumsticks in a peculiar way in "Showtime" (he can really play, though).
According to IMDB.com, Gary Burghoff (the actor that was Radar) has a deformed left hand that he takes great pains to hide during the run of M*A*S*H on TV. Usually hidden behind his clipboard.

Yeah I remember hearing about that when M*A*S*H was on the air. I think he was born like that.
He is very self conscious about it. I remember they always tried to hide it.

Ever since i've read this thats all I'm doing is checking out Radars left hand. I did catch a few glimpses of his deformed hand. As much as I've watched MASH it's weird I've never noticed his hand before, he does such a good job of hiding it.

I'd never noticed it before, until my history prof mentioned it in lecture once. I think it's the very first episode, he's holding a football and they show it really clearly.

Doesn't he also have a webbed foot? I seem to remember reading that in a magazine back when M*A*S*H was on the air during its first run.
