The answer is: Human.
In episode #53 of The Munsters, Eddie and Herman are both bruised by bullies who gave them punches. If they were not human and not alive, why would they bruise? Corpes can't bruise. The blood doesn't circulate. Also in episode #68 of The Munsters, you can hear Herman heavily breathing, because He is worried of being sued for a car accident. Now if He was not human, He would not be able to breathe. Only a corpse, does not breathe. In various other episodes, you can hear Lily, & Grandpa also breath heavily, probably from laughter, which means they are also human. And of course, Marilyn, but She was so plain, no one would ever doubt that She was human.
