I Love Carol Burnett! 06-12-2004, 09:57 PM Thoughts? Comments?
I LOVE it I bought it Thurs. I've watched it twice! Where Brenda was in that phone both and that old man went "Your in my house" "Get out of my house". And that man had the gun and was smiling with it.
Also, where they were singing the blues!
Where they were about to leave to go get Brenda and she said "Any trouble for the next 60 mins I'll kill you, murder you..."
Daryal "Rape?"
I LOVED THE MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jokerette 06-13-2004, 07:02 AM A priceless pieces of the 80s. Awesome cast, awesome storyline and just FUN! I saw it first when I was 12 and it made me want to go out and have the exact same adventure LOL. I love the stuff with the gangsters, Brad's cute crush on Chris, Brad's goofy best friend Daryl, the silly girl Brenda who runs away and gets scared at the bus-station (I love it when she mistakes a rat for a kitten).
My favourite scene is easily Babysittin' Blues but I love it when Chris confronts her scummy boyfriend and Daryl kicks him in the ass...the scene on the train with the gang fight... but it has so many great moments.
I just wish there was a soundtrack with ALL the songs (they had some awesome oldies in the movie that I can't find anywhere for download). That would rock.

 I hadn't watched it all the way through untill yesterday. It was SOOOOOOOOO funny! Brenda was so crazy! And was it just me or was Elisabeth Shue (Chris) Hot?
Jokerette 06-14-2004, 01:33 PM Brenda was hilarious. I love it when she mistakes a rat for a kitten. :p And yeah Elisabeth Shue was really pretty in AIB (and Karate Kid). I wonder what she looks like now...I think she'd be in her 40s today.
TheHappyBurgerMeister 06-16-2004, 02:43 AM This movie is so great! Is there any extra stuff on the DVD, like commentary? Lately I love going to the video store to rent OLD dvd's just to see the commentary. It's great to watch a movie I've seen so many times and then find out all new things about it!
ptcruiserfan2004 06-17-2004, 06:04 PM I liked this movie too and watch it whenever it's on TV, which is not to often these days.
Also of note, the guy who played "Thor" at the garage scene near the end of the film was played by none other than Vincent D'Onofrio (of L&O: Criminal Intent and Full Metal Jacket fame). :D
Jokerette 06-18-2004, 11:19 AM TheHappyBurgerMeister - from what I understand the DVD is a real skin and bones release, no extra's at all. :( I'm sticking with my VHS tape from the 80s for that reason.
TheHappyBurgerMeister 06-19-2004, 01:41 AM Well, then it's not worth buying to me (or even renting) if it doesn't have extra stuff. I can just watch my crappy VHS tape when I taped it off the TV 12 years ago.
julian bozo 06-20-2004, 04:37 AM I love this movie. I have seen it bunches of times.
Classicshowsgurl15 11-07-2005, 09:21 PM Who liked that movie? I saw for the first time this weekend and I really liked it. Who else likes this movie?
Brian Damage 11-08-2005, 01:24 AM It was a cute little movie.
spunkygirl 11-08-2005, 02:13 PM I love that movie :D
I Love Carol Burnett! 11-28-2005, 08:08 PM Loved the movie!! Hilarious!! Where the homeless guy yelled at Brenda, "YOUR IN MY HOUSE!!!!!!!! GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'' ROFLMAO!!!!!
Max Whittaker 11-28-2005, 10:47 PM Oh! That movie is old school! I used to watch that all the time!
Good times... Good times...

At least it would be ALL ANALOGUE!!! -- On the official VHS TAPE it is "Presented in Digitally Processed HI-FI Stereo"
They even affected the mono linear track!!!!!
I got a copy from Japan but its the exact same way :(
I think its aweful how they forced this digital crap on people in the 80s...... Really very sad.......
Hawkee 09-15-2024, 03:08 AM If there is one 80's movie that many people watched a lot I would have to say Adventures In Babysitting really stood the test of time. Because not only is it a fun movie but you get to see Elizabeth Shue in her film debut and Adventures In Babysitting was the movie that made her a household name. I saw Adventures In Babysitting myself and I agree that it's a good movie and it's surprising that Disney Channel remade it in a new version. But I had no idea that Vincent D'Onofrio was in Adventures In Babysitting because I know him as Kingpin from Hawkeye

Dude111 02-12-2026, 08:11 AM I love the original in 1987!
I do not like how they digitally compromised it on the official VHS! (Presented in Digitally Processed HIFI Stereo) They also affected the Linear track also!!
I would love finding this recorded from analogue cable!!
Has anyone seen the remake of this?? (I havent and wont!!)
