View Full Version : Who's the Boss or The Cosby Show?
TVFactFan 06-12-2004, 06:54 PM Both shows started and ended at the same time-84-92 and always did well in the ratings. I personally liked the Tony character better than Cliff Huxtable, I liked Mona better than the Huxtable grandparents and i was attracted to Samantha. Plus the show Who's the Boss did not add 10 NEW cast members between 1989-92. I will have to say Who's the Boss is my choice.
Small Wonderian 06-12-2004, 07:08 PM I would have to choose The Cosby Show.
Adamantium 06-12-2004, 07:13 PM Without a doubt in my mind ..... "Who's the Boss?"
James"Thunder"Early 06-12-2004, 07:42 PM I can't really choose, both had good storylines and good actings, so it's a toss-up.
Skywalker 06-12-2004, 08:12 PM I just became a fan of the Cosby Show and I've liked WTB since the late 80's so I have to pick Whos the Boss?
shannon05 06-12-2004, 08:31 PM cosby for sure
barwars 06-12-2004, 10:06 PM absolutely no doubt in my mind, this was simple....
The Cosby Show
I like WTB?, but I LOVE TCS.
Bill Cosby could kick Tony Danza's ass any day, unless of course it was in his Taxi days, then its a tossup.

Well atleast who's the boss did not have 23 new characters between 1989-1992-LOL
AtlantaBravesFan29 06-12-2004, 10:21 PM The Cosby Show.
Who's The Boss was more of an adult family show than The Cosby Show. In its later years it drifted out of the family show element and became an adult show, especially the last season of the show with Sam and her boyfriend and Tony and Angela getting engaged but never getting married.

It was more like 22 than 23.... but still, who's counting?!
I think WTB? (in its early years, before Sam went to college) is better than TCS in its later years.
But at their prime, TCS still wins.

Maybe that's why i like Who's THe Boss more than the Cosby Show.
EmoJoe 06-12-2004, 11:35 PM Who's the Boss. The show had more of a unique plotline than TCS, Cosby was just about a family when WTB went into greater detail. Also, WTB did not have 10 characters added in five years. Also, it didnt have characters on and off the show, the cast was mostly SOLID.

Thats incorrect. WTB was targeted as a family-friendly show.

Do you even know what Who's the Boss? was about?  It was about a MALE widower housekepper-(thats unique already) working and living with his daughter at a divorced woman and her son's house, and their secret passions for each other. How could you argue with me on that? WTB did have a family, but the family was a little more UNIQUE than Cosby Show.

Yes, although an imagination has NOTHING to do with that post.
Solomon said something about Claire not letting Cliff eat (which you later mocked as well), then I went on to say that Tony was Angela's maid.
That conversation was arguing over who was more whipped, and you cant get more whipped than being a maid.

Instead he would sneak around like a kid and try to eat salt instead of being a man and telling Clair i eat what i want and when i want it.

Ummm actually Cliff was as whipped as a man could be  Clair most definitely ruled the roost in that household,
He may not have always listened to Clair, but he was still very whipped.
If Tony was whipped, so was Mr. Belvedere, and every man who stays home with children, to cook and clean instead of working outside the home.
Dean Winchester 06-13-2004, 04:02 PM I prefer Cosby, BUT... at this point, I'd rather watch Who's The Boss since it hasn't been shoved down your throat so much.
Plus, Alyssa has gone onto a successful run on Charmed.... which I prefer more than any of the post-Cosby shows combined.

yea, but Pam and Olivia wound up stealing a lot of episode screen time from the others.
Theo was the only original Cosby kid who was still appearing in every episode by seasons 7 and 8
Adamantium 06-13-2004, 04:07 PM What does it matter if characters are "whipped" or "Whores"? The only thing that matters is that the show makes you laugh. I have never liked "The Cosby Show." I've sort of liked "Who's the Boss?" Now, thanks to the DVD, I'm enjoying "Who's the Boss?" a whole lot more.
And Tony's not whipped or a whore, he's just a nice guy, who cares of Angela.
shannon05 06-13-2004, 04:08 PM ok ok ok i guess u got me there, but still THE ORIGIONAL CAST did indeed stay in the show..u cant say they didnt, even if it wasnt every episode they did apprear, but people people people..watch what you want, if u like WTB better, good for u..if u like TCS better(like i do) then good for u lol...id hate to see peopel start argueing about this.

No doubt about it, Cliff was definately whipped. But that doesn't mean WTB is a better show.
I was just going along with Solomon and his stupid reasons as to why certain shows are better than others.

You people consider Full House very family friendly, but heres some things that arent family-friendly on Full House.
1. Joey telling Michelle that Becky and Jesse are paying their bills when they are really having sex.
2. An underage Kimmy getting drunk
3. At the end of an episode, Becky and Jesse talk about having a baby, and than they get in bed and turn the lights off.
4. Danny and Vicky making out on the couch
5. Stephanie going to a make-out party
The point im trying to make is, any show from 1980 to now has a few little inappropriate things in it. Even Cosby Show, I remember an episode being rated TV-PG of the Cosby Show

Yes, but Full House is actully for pre-teens-teenagers. And on Nick@Nite, according to Pav, more adults are watching Full House than children.
I was just pointing out that FH had some "things" in it, like most other shows.
