Because the number of posts over the last day or so have gone crazy, let's try to keep all our opinions on the movie to this one post. That way, we don't have to dig around trying to find different opinions, and people can look at everyone's thoughts together.

Of course, don't ANYONE post until the movie is over on the west coast. Don't ruin it for them!!!!

Thanks!!! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/heart.gif http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Yeah, it's hard. I'm suffering from sleep deprivation and not thinking straight, so what time will the movie on the west coast be through-in eastern time?
Did that make sense? Sorry if it didn't, I'm really tired...

Awesome... I have several thoughts, but the movie was great. I'm post more later tonight or tomorrow, after everyone has been able to see it.

if people don't want to know about the movie, don't read, i won't b around for a few days and i just have this to say...

very happily surprised, no crap, no camp, just a nice little story,

like how they did the story about all the girls, even jo, that was good about her being a cop (little hint for the division), loved blairs' small Inn too, i gotta stay there someday....

personally, i wish they would show this again, someday, it was that good, most of these reunions r bad, but this was good and cute....except i missed joe, just to hear her say "ooooo blair."

As an 'original' fan, I loved it. The best part was seeing the girls (actors and characters) have fun like the old days. Very cute, sweet, and true to form. Nice to see they didn't deviate from the series. So many reunions do and it loses something. This one held true.

one last item:

i did like the reference about the handy man, george, going off to hollywood to become a star, that was soooooo gooooood.....

great writing

Thought that's what she said, but I didn't think they'd be that blunt with an inside joke. I think blunt is the word I'm looking for.

I thought the movie was cute....gotta admit that I came in with low expectations based on other reunion type movies and the fact that we knew 'Jo' would not be making an appearance,,,but gotta admit to being pleasantly surprised...I made my boyfriend watch it with me,,,even he laughed a few times....I can't believe that he grew up during the 80's and never heard of fol!!!

It made me a little sad to see how old the cast,,especially Mrs G looked,,,I'm in the same age group as the 4 girls and grew up with the original series on NBC....IMO,,even though the movie may have been a little cheesy and she wants to move beyond fol,,,,Nancy McKeon may one day look back and regret that she didn't join the other girls for the movie.

Tootie: Muffy? Her name is Muffy? What kind of person is named Muffy?

Jo: Beats me, Tootie.

I loved the Movie it was very good. Iloved the contest between Nat's two boyfriends I was hoping Harper would win but when Nat said i wanted Haper to win I was like Yes she picked the hot guy. I also like the scene between Blair and Tad that was cute. The whole movie was good I was impressed.

George the handyman was played by George Clooney from 1985-1987. He played a handyman they originally hired to help them rebuild the shop after it burned down. They joke was right at the beginning. Raymond tells Blair that something needs to be fixed and she tells him to have the handyman do it. Raymond then tells Blair that he left. She says something like, "Not LA again. Every since George left us we have gone through 10 guys who keep going to LA for acting."

I know it's not exact, but it is similar to that. I was laughing pretty hard.

I heard that. I almost fell off my bed from laughing so hard. LOL http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/rotflmao.gif LOL

Tootie: Harper?
Blair (to Tootie): Robert.
Tootie (looking at Natalie): Could be.
Raymond: Well, whatever his name is, I’ll go help him.
Blair: I thought your boyfriend’s name was Robert.
Tootie: Ah, there is a Robert, and a Harper.
Blair: Natalie, you strumpet.
Natalie: Oh, it’s not like it.
Tootie: Oh it so is
Natalie: Oh, be quiet.

On the whole, I liked the reunion. As someone who also grew up with the show in the 80's and is a couple years younger than the cast, it was great to see how the characters have turned out. And they have stayed true to who they are and haven't changed. It was almost like catching up with old friends. I thought that the reuinon also stayed true to the series. There was a lot comedy. There were some great one liners there, especially the one refering to George Clooney. However, it tackled a serious issue--Blair suspects that Tad is having an affiar. Finaly, I loved the scene of all three girls riding in the limo with the theme playing in the background. It was the highlight of the movie.

Now for the negative side of the reunion. First, Jo was sorely missed. She like the other girls was a central figure on the show, and to not have her in the movie kinda took some of the magic away from the reuinon. And I think that having Jo's daughter Jamie trying to fill that void didn't work very well. Remember, these girls once called themselves the Four Musketeers. ALso, the whole Natalie-Robert-Harper storyline was a bit over the top. The male modeling contest between Robert and Harper was totaly cheesy.
That said, I'm still glad that they did the movie. It was worth waiting for.
