Yeah, I heard that like a month ago. Because she has to rest her voice because its 'strained'. Like you need a whole summer to rest your voice. I also heard its because she didnt sell out. Christina is known for cancelling shows at the last minute.

Roger Chapman, current solo aritst and formerly of Family and the only rock singer who could make Robert Plant sound like a crooner, had to rest his voice for five months recently. But then, he is in his sixties, and he's been killing small game at a hundred yards ("He could kill small game at a hundred yards" - Robert Christgau on Roger Chapman) with his vibrato "electric goat" voice since 1967! :D

So what's Xtina's excuse? :p

The whole "voice strain" thing is bullcrap, I'm 85% sure she canceled because of low sales.

Good God people! Christina at least sings her show live... unlike other people.

She was on the Justified/Stripped tour from June 2003 to September 2003. Christina then went on a world tour that took her through Europe, Japan, and Australia. That ended in December... and as of late, she's been recording a new album and a song for a Mercedes-Benz commercial AND rehearsing for that tour. After all that, her voice was eventually going to tire out. The break is only for 6 weeks and time is almost done, if not already done... she's been pretty clear that she's going back to work then.

Yeah, she was having some low sales for the tour, which could be a factor. It would have helped had she promoted the fact she's touring again. I was never for the tour in the first place since it's promoting an album that's already run its course on the charts. There are no singles to promote... she's already toured the US for the album. I just think it's time to move on from Stripped...

In conclusion, don't assume she's always cancelling tours and doing absolutely nothing... because she's not. If you haven't heard her live, you're missing out. She sounds AMAZING live... I like some of her live performances better than the studio ones. There... I'm done with ranting. Thank you for your time :)

cry me a river. shes not the only singer that sings live. Just look at say, Gwen Stefani, who has never lip syched in ever in her career. They have been touring nonstop for the past 5 years. They've never had to cancel a show because of her "vocal strain". Christina has a good voice, i'm sure she knows how to use it properly.
