EmoJoe 06-11-2004, 02:51 PM Good schedlue! :)
Edited: No quoting this schedule.
Scoobiedoo30 06-11-2004, 03:05 PM This Schedule does Look Great.
Dean Winchester 06-11-2004, 03:11 PM I don't see why Smallville will make their schedule, yet you'll probably never see Dawson's Creek (which appeals to the same audience as 90% of these shows) on there

TBS has the rights to Dawson's Creek, or I'm sure they would have tried to buy that one as well.

Family Matters now at 12am and 1230am!
WOOHOO!!
:woohoo:

Glad to see Full House airing a little less on Weekdays.

First, thanks for the schedules Pav.
And Dawson's Creek on ABC FAMILY? I couldn't see it on there, but now with TBS being "Very Funny" I could see it happen whenever TBS loses the rights.
Kind of off-topic, but I wish some network would pick up Lois and Clark. Why not ABC Family... lol.
TVJunkie101 06-11-2004, 06:04 PM Originally posted by Jen1989
I agree. It would be nice if Lois & Clark aired on a network. It hasn't aired since it was on TNT and it aired at 7AM, which is way too early.
Yeah, I never remembered it was on. Then it went to TBS for like 3 months to finish out the contract (how dumb was that?) and TBS picked up Dawson's Creek...
I think USA could use a nice makeover with JAG and Walker now going to be airing on Hallmark (USA will still air both). I mean, Coach is being added, so I think it'd be nice to see USA do a little revamp, but that's doubtful... Anyway, back on topic, LOL.
barwars 06-11-2004, 07:34 PM I dont like the turn ABCFamily has taken of getting WB's dramas, none of which interest me -- except for Smallville, but not very much.
ABC Family shows I'll watch....
Family Matters
Step by Step
Boy Meets World
Full House
Smallville
Whose Line Is It Anyway?
ClassicComedyFan2 06-11-2004, 10:06 PM What I really want to know is...is Tokyo Pig ever coming back? And, is Power Rangers still going to be on? :D
Other than that, its good to see Family Matters still on.
And, for those speculating about Dawson's Creek on ABC Family, I believe that pavanbadal said they tried to get the show. It's too bad they didn't win the Star Trek shows, though. Star Trek on ABC Family would have been pretty cool. :)

Thats surprising. ABC Family is supposed to be family-friendly. "Smallville,", "Gilmore Girls", and "Dawnson's Creek arent exactly "family friendly."
spunkygirl 06-11-2004, 11:19 PM Pav does this mean they moved the Boy Meets World Marathon from the 19th of June?

True, but Smallville and Gilmore Girls are more family friendly than Dawson's Creek.
And doesn't (for ClassicComedyFan2) Tokyo Pig air on Cartoon Network or Toon Disney or something? I swear I've seen listings for it.

True. Wasnt Dawnson's Creek like TV-14? I cant see that airing on ABC Family.

:yeahthat ABC Family would be great, especially since we don't even have a DVD release to look forward too, and L&C was an ABC show :) IMO it should be airing on some network, if not TBS then ABC Family :D

No, the June 19 launch is still on. The Aug. 22 marathon is ANOTHER marathon. And it WILL air 5 and 5:30PM in June, July, and August (possibly most of September too), but the new 2:30PM weekdays and 1-2pm weekends starts this fall.

I know ABC Family wouldn't air it in primetime, but Lois & Clark would be a perfect fit with Smallville back-to-back, in late morning/early afternoon. I just hope L&C hits DVD VERY soon.

:yeahthat:
It irks me as a Superman/Lois and Clark/The Adventures of Superman and Smallville fan, that Smallville gets more respect that than the other two do, IMO L&C is much better show than Smallville.

I think it's all about timing. Smallville came out after Buffy/Angel/Charmed/Dark Angel/etc... brought drama laced with supernatural elements, without being so overtly sci-fi like The X-Files or Star Trek, to the forefront, so a show like Smallville is going to be more appreciated now than it would've been a decade ago.

I'm a Smallville fan (but my craze for it kind of went out the window this season, I barely saw any of season 3, lol) a Lois and Clark fan and an Adventures of Superman fan. I've seen the various animated series' but the only one I've yet to see is the 80s Superboy drama.
Anyway, I agree with Pavanbadal (which was kind of my idea in my original post, but I never really expressed it) it would be a nice companion for Smallville, simply because Smallville focuses on "before the tights" and L&C focuses on "after the tights" LOL.

Wow, you've never seen Superboy? I loved watching that on Saturday afternoons! I was a fan of that and Lois & Clark. The Adventures of Superman is OK too, as is the Superman movies and cartoons. I never watched Smallville though.
Yeah, ABC Family should air them back-to-back. I think Lois & Clark is on in Latin America on their WB in the mornings.
Here is The WB Latin America morning lineup, which has a few ABC Family Channel shows even:
6:00am Growing Pains
6:30am Los Secretos de Verónica (Veronica's Closet)
7:00am Superman: La Nueva Serie Ani.... (Superman Animated Series)
7:30am Batman: La Serie Animada (Batman Animated Series)
8:00am Batman del Futuro (Batman Beyond)
8:30am Lois y Clark: Las Nuevas Ave.... (Lois & Clark)
9:30am Tres por Tres (Full House)
10:00am Paso a Paso (Step by Step)
10:30am El Príncipe del Rap (The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air)
11:00am Growing Pains
11:30am Gilmore Girls
12:30pm El Toque de un Ángel (Touched by an Angel)
1:30pm Friends

Nope, never saw Superboy. Adventures of Superman, is kind of boring, LOL, but I still like it. Smallville is good, but I haven't had much interest in it lately. Too many freaks of the weeks and too much "soapy" drama, imo, LOL. Lois and Clark I really enjoyed, I always watched that on ABC.

Mr. Television 06-15-2004, 12:35 AM 3rd Rock's a great show. With it and Grounded For Life coming soon, I'll have to start watching this network.

I'm just saying it's not a "Family" show. I know it's about a family, but it's not for the whole family to watch together. Again, I have nothing against "3rd Rock".
I'm feel that ABC Family should change their name to get the word "Family" out of there. Because it's not the Family Channel it used to be.

Classic TV Fanatic 07-22-2004, 12:37 AM The Wonder Years is just barely on the schedule ... two measley timeslots a week. That's a shame. Not to mention that ABC Family hardly airs The Wonder Years anymore.
Pav, how long does ABC Family have the rights to TWY? Hopefully it will be soon ... so that TWY can find a new home ala Nick at Nite/TV Land.

I do think Gilmore Girls is a good fit for ABC Family, Smallville possibily. But not Dawsons Creek. too mature for ABC Family.

I don't know. ABC Family and Disney Channel are related. So they must have renewed (it was expiring this Sept.) but I don't think Disney will air it in September, only ABC Family. And the contract is exclusive. That's why it is not on any local channel anymore (for the last 4 years).

Silly question, do Disney and ABC Family have separate contracts for BMW or since they're both related networks, is it the same contract but it just got renewed? :)

Why would it be separate? They are both channels owned by Walt Disney Television. But it is odd that ABC Family is showing different prints. I'm guessing that the new prints are from the renewal.

lucyluver2 08-16-2004, 07:12 PM Oh man! I can't believe they're only going to show 3rd Rock on the weekends! I was hoping they would show it on weekdays, even if it was in the early afternoon or morning. Now its expiring on locals!
Pavan 09-10-2004, 10:20 AM One change for the fall schedule, starting 10/4: 2PM is now another Boy Meets World, replacing Step by Step, which is now off the schedule. For the full line-up see the first post in this thread.
CliffClavin 09-10-2004, 11:12 AM Man, I love Step By Step. Will Step By Step ever air on a different channel ?

It very well could be separate. For example, the Game Show Network (GSN now) has to lease shows from Sony, it's parent company, and has had to since its inception. It would make sense, then, that two separate companies would have to lease shows from Viacom, as well.

Will 3rd Rock from the Sun only be airing on Saturdays starting October 4th? Why only once a week? So this show can no longer air on local channels and ABC Family is just going to hold on to it and barely air it? It would make sense to just give the show to a different channel/network who will air the show more than one day a week. ABC Family doesnt make sense. The End

Well, 3rd Rock was bought by FOX Family years ago. So, it wasn't really part of ABC Family's plans. At least they are going to air it, though.
You can't just give a show to another network; it doesn't work that way.
factsoflife 09-11-2004, 09:03 PM Why are they getting rid of Step-By-Step? I LOVE that show. will it be airing anywhere else?
spunkygirl 09-11-2004, 09:44 PM :woohoo: Wow this is cool, more BMW :D I never thought I'd see the day when it would be overplayed :happyface

I hardly ever watch N@N. Are they overplaying WTB? How many times are they airing it? Just wondering. No...but local stations all over the country are picking it up. So its gonna be overplayed because itll be on N@N AND locals all over the US. In my area, its gonna be on 22 times a week
Its finally getting the repsect it deserves ;)

I wouldn't call about 10 locals "all across the country."

12:30AM Family Matters (replaces AFV)
I keep forgetting about this. :cuss:
Just FWIW... it's a repeat of the previous day's 1pm and 130p,m episodes. The only problem is, it doesn't air on Friday Nights so Friday's episodes are never replayed. :wallbang
Pavan 09-24-2004, 12:01 PM ABC Family has edited their fall line-up again. They are delaying Jamie Kennedy Experiment for now, a second Whose Line will air in its place; Step by Step is back on at 2p-3p; Boy Meets World moves to 3p-4p replacing Switched and Knock First, which are now totally gone.

barwars 09-24-2004, 04:30 PM Im really liking Family Matters at Midnight & 12:30.
But 700 Club must go, that shows sucks in every way possible.

When Fox bought the Family Channel from Pat Robertson/CBN in 1999, part of the deal was that they had to continue airing The 700 Club for X amount of years (I'm not sure what the exact number was). When ABC bought the network from Fox, they had to continue to honor that contract.
So I don't think they want to air that show; they have to.

Just because you don't like The 700 Club doesn't mean that nobody else does. Heck if it wasn't for The 700 Club there probably wouldn't be an ABC Family.

I highly doubt The 700 Club is the reason they have an ABC Family.
Read AKA's post.... they just got screwed with a contract.

EmoJoe 09-25-2004, 10:29 AM They just need to get rid of that extra Full House block and replace it with 7th Heaven and it would be a perfect scedule.

Okay, I see. Thanks for pointing that out. Let me explain my "crazy" logic. When Pat Robertson created the network he asked for "700 people" to donate so he could keep it running. That network was CBN, which became Family Channel, which became Fox Family, which eventually became ABC Family. Sorry, that was probably way more information than what you wanted to know.
Sorry for going so off-topic. Anyway, I'm just glad that ABC Family kept Step by Step on the schedule.

:yeahthat
Agree on both counts...
Pat Robertson bores me.
spunkygirl 09-26-2004, 12:28 PM I wish ABC Family would pick up Lois and Clark, they could have a superhero block with Smallville :)
