What are some shows where you thought the quality of the acting improved over time? Will Smith's couldn't act at all when Fresh Prince started but he got better as time went on. Are there any other cases?

One Day At A Time. Bonnie Franklin's acting during the first two seasons was not impressive nor her looks. After the third season her acting got better and her looks was spruced up thanks to her new haircut in the fourth season.

Mindy Cohn's acting got better as Facts Of Life went on (she wasn't a trained actress and was cast because Charlotte Rae loved her and thought she'd be great for the part)

one whose acting got worse IMO was Nicholas Brendon on Buffy The Vampire Slayer. He wasn't half-bad in the high school seasons, but as the character got older, his limited acting skills got more noticable. The monologue he gives at the end of the season 6 episode Entropy after he found his ex Anya doing the naughty-naughty with Spike showed just how unconvincingly bad his acting is. He was supposed to be hurt, offended and upset, yet he came off as TRYING to be it but not working. Luckily he wasn't used nearly as much in seasons 4-7 as he was in seasons 1-3.

I say the cast of Designing Women weren't as good actors as they were as the show went on. They warmed up to the screen and developed better chemistry with each other.

Full House. From the third season on the acting and the cast began to hit their stride. The first season the writing and the storylines were lame. The acting was not too impressive.
