It would be great if the 1981 PBS documentary Making M*A*S*H were to be included on the Season Nine DVD set. I vaguely remember seeing this when it aired originally. It would be interesting to see a "making of" from the perspective of when they were actually filming it.

I'm not saying that a newer documentary, like Memories Of M*A*S*H wouldn't be good, but people tend to see things through rose-colored glasses in retrospect.

However, I won't hold my breath waiting for this...the sets so far have been bare bones and I don't expect that'll change.:(

Unfortunately, the moment has passed for this doc to be included. I would love to have seen it again. All of the actors on the show were still alive then and had fresher insights as to what made the show work.

I started watching M*A*S*H in the summer of 1981 and I came across that documentary on PBS sometime afterwards. Interesting stuff, particularly as they showed the table read and filming an actual episode.
