Well kids, I have another Network to hate besides FOX.

It seems that wonderful "Network For Men" Spike TV has pulled "Star Trek Deep Space Nine" from the 7PM (est) slot and replaced it with a rerun of "Star Trek The Next Generation," which also repeats at 8PM (est).

Oh, DS9 is still in the daily lineup. At 1 in the afternoon!

What Bull:censored: !!!

Reruns of this great show premiered only 2 months ago and they've pulled it from prime time without explanation.

I should have expected this from the geniuses who brought us "Gary The Rat."

In conclusion; Hey Spike TV!

:yousuck: :mooner:

What makes matters even worse is that starting next Monday, DS9 will not even be on in the afternoons. I'm not sure if they'll continue to show Trek Uncut or not. Rumor has it that on Friday June 18, Spike will show an all day DS9 marathon. If you are asking for my opinion, Spike sucks!

What? Not even the afternoons? This is rediculous!

What's the point in showing any DS9 eps on "Uncut" if the show isn't airing at any other time on your network!

What really ticks me off is they pulled the show before we even got to see every episode! DS9 was brilliant in their last few seasons!

What a joke. Spike TV blows.

Star Trek: DS9 is still scheduled to air on Fridays at 9/10pm for Trek Uncut. In June & July DS9 is also scheduled some Saturday afternoons.

Over the next 2 weeks- June 14 - 18 & 21 - 25, Spike TV will be having weekday marathons from 9am - 5pm. While DS9 is not scheduled to air weekdays at 1pm during these 2 weeks- it is what the marathon show is on both Fridays.

On Monday June 28, the marathons will be over and DS9 is scheduled to air Weekdays at 1pm again.

I guess TNG just gets better ratings, so they put it back at 7 & 8pm. Come September, no Star Trek series will air at 7/8pm as CSI is scheduled to take over these timeslots.

Yes, Spike TV does suck most of the time.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed.

What does everyone think, is Spike TV phasing out their Star Trek shows?

Maybe they think Trek is too "geeky" for their "network for men."

Remember, they bought the Trek shows when they were still TNN.

This afternoon I called up SpikeTV and talked to one of their programmers. She told me that on Monday June 28, DS9 will return to it's daily slot.

Not good enough. I want a prime time slot, or I'm walking!

Maybe the ratings for DS9 aren't all that great?

I remember reading that ST:TNG always did really well on Spike and TNN before it :)

I'm just sad that once again DS9 is getting short changed.

I have always loved the show, and IMO it was the best Star Trek series.

Basically it was the first Star Trek series I watched from the beginning.
I became a fan of TNG around season 2, then because of that show I got hooked on Kirk and the original series, but DS9 was the first Star Trek series I watched from the beginning, so it will always hold a special place for me as a Trek fan, and I always thought it was the one Star Trek series that never got the credit it was due.
TNG recieved many accolades and went on to do movies with much media hoopla, and then the new UPN network announced their new "Voyager" series at the same time DS9 was finishing their seven year run.

So for me, I think this great series is not getting is fair share.

Though DS9 has never recieved the attention of TNG, many critics and viewers consider it the best Trek. Still, DS9 has never had the viewership that TNG did and probably still does. When TNG left the air in 1994 it was being watched by over 11 million viewers where as when DS9 left the air in 1999 it had an audiance of only slightly over 5 million viewers.

The Weekday Marathons scheduled over the next 2 weeks have been cancelled and the regular schedule will continue to air.

I know this is a pretty old thread, but I would just like to point out that Spike is still being crappy to the beloved Deep Space Nine. A few months ago, they started airing only 1 episode a day, and now, they are shoving it to the 10am timeslot. This sucks!

.......Yet, Spike will now be airing 3 episodes of CSI weeknights. Ugh!
