LAW & ORDER: TRIAL BY JURY (NBC) - Candice Bergen ("Murphy Brown") and John Mahoney ("Frasier") are in talks to join the rotating ensemble cast of the upcoming "Law & Order" spin-off. "Law & Order" veterans Carey Lowell and Jerry Orbach are also in talks to appear in the new series however no firm casting deals have been made for the project. Lowell and Orbach would of course reprise their roles of Jamie Ross and Lennie Briscoe while Bergen and Mahoney are reportedly up to play judges on the series.

I'd be very interested to see how this one works as a series, Criminal Intent was billed as being from the Criminal's perspective, but it's really Law & Order: Columbo, whereas SVU had a slow and boring start but has grown into the most compelling of the three, in Australia it commands the highest Audience of the three and is second in drama ratings only to CSI, here it goes up against ER in the same timeslot and for the past year has been winning soundly, a recent episode where they basically did their own version of the Michael Jackson case was a great example of how SVU pushes the envelope. Bergin and Mehoney would be worth watching and I could picture them as judges definitely.

It's amazing...You can look back on "News" from six months ago, and based on what's happened in that sixth months, laugh yourself into hysterics.
Candice joined a show alright....it just turned out to be Boston Legal (still being referred to as Fleet Street in July)
