$89.98 retail is quite a bit when you compare it to other recent tv releases, but there are a few more episodes then the usual 22 and the music rights had to be high. Hopefully all of the original music is included.

The episodes themselves feature extended performances not seen on TV from musical guest stars such as Usher, Kelly Rowland, LeAnn Rimes, Michelle Branch and many others.

Not crazy about the cover (http://www.davisdvd.com/images/covers/americandreams_lg.jpg), it should have focused more on the cast than the musical performers.

I have my copy! I got it at Best Buy for $69.99. Not bad. With some of the rest of my money I bought a new 10 pack of tapes to get ready for the 3rd season. I haven't watched any episodes on the DVD yet, but I can't wait to! I really love the cover and the discs are pretty. I just wish that Beth was on one of them.

I'm surprised they didn't include Henry on on of them.

Hi everyone!

I had this panic attac when I read a review about the American Dreams DVD Set on Amazon.com!!!

It said that on the DVD they don't have all the full episodes. They only have like a short summary of each one....

Can someone please tell me if this is true? Has anyone watched their DVD yet?

I don't think that's true. I've watched the whole first disc so far, and I believe that they have the full episode on each disc.

I don't know what they mean by that. There's a summary of the episode that you're watching when you go to it. Maybe that's it.

That review is wrong- there are all 25 episodes, plus more film of the musical performances. There are also audio commentaries and a music video.

The DVD is GREAT. I've been busy this week so I've only seen the first 2 but it is GREAT to see it again

one question.... where is the blooper reel?

Storywriter

I saw the DVD set in Target last night on sale for 69.99....I didn't buy it cause i have high Credit card bills I have to pay off.......

I told my mom about it and she said she'd get it for me for my Birthday which is November 7th.......I told her they only had Two copies there...She said she'd get it now........

My brother said to me last night while we were in Target and he saw me eyeing it......He asked if it just came out.....I said Tuesday the 7th and he said wait a little while longer it may go down even more in the price.....

so we;ll see what I decide to do.......I have 3 options....
1 Get it Next month,
2.Have mom give it to me for my 26th bday or
3. see if it goes down in price in a few months then buy it......Mel :) :D

There is no blooper reel on the dvd set, it's not even listed anywhere so that may have just been an early press release which are always subject to change.

Here's my belated review:

http://www.sitcomsonline.com/americandreamsseason1dvdreview.html

The site is pricey, but I think it's well worth it. You can probably order it online cheaper then you can find in stores unless you see it on sale.
