I know that on tvshowsondvd.com it says that season 2 is out August 31, but on the sitcomsonline homepage, there are no scheduled releases for that date. What gives?

The SO page probably hasn't been updated yet.

I've been getting the Columbia House sets. Who has the season sets and what is on them in the way of extras? If they are better than the Columbia House DVDs, maybe I'll stop CH and get the season sets.

Dawson Girl, I'm so sorry about the loss of your friend. She was way too young.

Does anyone know if season 2 will be released "normally" on the standard 3 or 4 discs in a box set, as opposed to the ridiculous 9 seperate dvds of the 1st season?

That's the only reason I didn't purchase season 1...I mean...9 seperate dvds??????? Who wants to change discs so much?

Producers said that this format would only be for season one. After season one, all subsequent seasons would be released in the standard boxed-set. Season Two will have 5 discs, and will be released on August 31.

I'm glad to see some of my friends from the Dick Van Dyke Show board are I Love Lucy fans too. Hi Lolac and Algebra74

At the rate they're releasing season sets, I'll be retired before my favorite episodes, Hollywood and Europe, are released on DVD (I'm 47 years old now!). :( They should look at how Image Entertainment did the Dick Van Dyke show. All 5 seasons were released in only 8 months!

At least I'll have something to look forward to in my old age

Hi, Larry. The difficult thing about these other shows on DVD is that we have to compare them to The Dick Van Dyke Show DVDs and these other sets just don't come close. We have been truly spoiled (thankfully!) by DVD on DVD. Now I expect all of my classic TV shows on DVD to be like that.

If we aren't dead by the time they finish releasing all six seasons! I am still in my teens and at this rate I'll be 92 by the time they release everything!

Should be worth the wait though, if S2 is anything like S1. I was agog at how well those disks were put together! The remastering was beautiful, the extras were perfect - why can't all shows be done that well? The A-Team S1 is a joy to own, but no extras?! Come on... Bloody Universal .

ILL has been a real labour of love, though, by the looks of things.

Hey guys, where did Splain go?! Did you eat him whilst I was away? :)

Last time, I heard he was having PC problems BUT I think he gave up on us with all the Desi admiration here lately:D

Oh, poor Splain! Mind you, he never could get his head around the idea that some of us prefer Desi, could he! :)

The number of times I tried to explain...

Sorry Splain. :p

I was just on the TVShowsOnDVD website and they showed a picture of the DVD set of Season Two for I Love Lucy. I looked at the summary and I saw under extra features something about a "guest cat?????" Huh????? Guest Cat??? Am I seeing things? Was this a typo??? What is this about "Guest Cat???" LOL!

Signed,

Yes, I should assume this as being a typo. The probably meant "Guest Cast".
